Wind Power: New Poll Finds 66% Of UK Public In Favour

I'm not surprised that so many Brits are for wind power since the GBP is largely ignorant about alternative energy.

Wind farms just dont produce enough energy, cost too much to produce, and take up too much space to be anything like efficient, especially for a continent as tiny as GB. Unfortunately the situation right now is that the wind farm turbine industry is inflating the usefulness of these things purely so their businesses can survive. So they fudge the facts and data, and well meaning environmentalists promote these things without knowing how crap they actually are.

These things are a primitive roadbump on the path to alternative energy. There are a few viable alternatives around right now, unfortunately all the patents for them are kept under lock and key by the oil industry.

Sometimes i wonder if the heads at the higher level think straight: Alternatives energy means irregular production of energy wind, solar or else (except water maybe ? with the high depth submarines currents).

Thus, given the core problem we ought to stock pile energy (batteries) for regular output to the consumer (=no shortage).Last i've heard it's not possible but i bet they haven't done much r& d

Wind farms are kind of ugly as they stand-out too much and are ineffective. Unless they are installed in frequently windy areas don't they slow down energy output? I am no expert so my opinions have limitations.

I think nuclear energy is probably the most efficient solution as they can make nuclear rods from weapons grade material. Instead of storing decommissioned nukes underground they can convert them for electric energy production.

Rather than those huge towers with skinny blades, smaller wind turbines with more variable propellers make more sense. They don't strike birds eithr. More like the old farm windmills with better self-protection and operation during high winds.
