Parts of our government approved the dispersant for that use. I know someone who works at a sewer treatment facility in Arizona. I was told that it is critical that they not use more than about a gallon for a million gallons of sewer, and the less the better Even though their waste water enters a big river slowly so it evens out the dispersant over a thousand times more water, it is crucial to keep it's use low. BP used too much of the dispersant, they didn't break a law either. Look at who approved the dispersant for oil leaks where so much was used. Look at who said it was safe in the first place.

We put men in a position of doing there jobs that are not heard when the right choice is there to be made.. the little guy remembers his education.. Those that have to much, ( In this case ) go with the profits to be made.

I'm certain their stock pile of food is fresh for them... (PTB) for those that are not stupid in this case anyway.
The outcome was obvious to them... not so much for the rest of us/those that are not aware.

Meanwhile... I trust everyone looks closer at what they eat....

Wildlife has no choice.

We depend on our Oceans for 60-80 percent of our food source...
Our food source depends on 100% of their life on it..

I've lived most of my life on the beaches of the Gulf. I could live off fish. I seriously can't even watch the video right now... if this is just what they're seeing now...

Another report, sad that even 14 billion dollars can't effectively return the health of the sea creatures and their food chain. I can't help but suspect what seafood is slipping thru to the markets either. You know someone is deciding money is more important than guaranteed quality.

Really? Do you not understand exactly how much oil went into the Gulf AND the Atlantic Ocean? This was the biggest man made disaster on the face of the earth. The Gulf is done. The effects of what happened will only start to be seen visually. What happened there started a chain reaction that WE can't stop. The chemicals are exactly what is causing all these genetic deformities. I would have much preferred they simply let the oil volcano spew all the oil it wants, even if BP and the federal government of the usa and the uk WERE TOO CHEAP to do a proper cleanup.

Crude oil is 100% natural! Corexit is not! Natural things are much easier to deal with then synthetic things. So please BP forget about your public image and LET all the oil spew up to the surface and choke all the life. At least it will be a temporary problem versus a greatly exaggerated, near perpetual problem of tampering with nature.

This is exactly what happens when heavy industry is not nationalised. The government could not care less about profits, because they lynch the tax payer to death and if all else fails they simply borrow more and more. I would much rather raise the debt ceiling on cleanup then start wars across the globe for BS reasons.

The conservative who plays wall street should feel extremely embarrased. We need socialism more than ever before. While you are at it, please erase the fed and make the national treasury the defacto lender. The cancer called capitalism needs to die before we destroy our only planet. At the very least we need a mixed economy!!!

I think the biggest problem is and I wish I could find it, is that wasn't corexit supposed to be used only on the surface to break up the oil and not be used below? Just did a quick search on the net and couldn't find anything that says how to properly use this stuff.

You are not supposed to use corexit OR ANY DISPERSANT! It disperses the oil rather than collect it, which is exactly what should not be done. I do NOT care about crude oil because the tides and winds would eventually make all that stuff gather up in one place and it would be easy to collect.

Corexit is the real disaster here, NOT the oil volcano! Why is this hard for people to comprehend

If anything they should develop some non-toxic oil congealing agents to help thicken the already thick crude oil. It would make collection even easier. Then oil skimmers can go to work by playing with tides, winds, patience.

Sure it takes a lot of time, money and effort and that is why the oil industry must be nationalised. Government does'nt care about profit and it should'nt. If the government works for the people, as it should, then people should have no major quarrels with paying for such services. The problem is we waste too much money elsewhere where it does NOT count and end up bankrupt for when we truely need it!

It is not rocket science......just common sense...if it exists anymore.

while I generally agree with the sentiment, and do not trust the Government to know it's head from it's buttox, I wouldn't freak out this far. First off, sea life has always been more susceptible to chemicals and whatnot than land animals have ever been. Therefore levels that can deform a shrimp, pound for pound, isn't necessarily going to cause a mutation in me and mine.

Still, what a gamble.
