What's Wrong with Dollar Amounts in Legislation? The Trick Most Don't Understand

$50,000, that's a lot of money though so it seems kinda fair, right? Sure, if we had an economy that wasn't undergoing constant inflation. If we didn't have QE1, 2 and at some point 3. See, this is the problem, people look at things as it pertains to today, not tomorrow. 100 years ago $100 was a ton of money, what will $50,000 be in 100 years? What if we go into hyperinflation next year and our taxes get jacked up, the economy crumbles and you lose your job? What's relavent today isnt always tomorrow. Keep dollar amounts out of laws, for they can manipulate the money.

but its an easy thing to change since its just a small modification of a law since all it does is change the upper limit of a fine so giving the judges a new set of numbers to issue them from but doesnt change the fact that you broke the law and thus unless the number gets increased stupidly you wont be able to challenge the fine and probably the idea of the fine in the first place was to give the average person a small slap and when people earned a buck a day 50cents may of been a right royal pain in the arse as a fine but the days 50cents wouldnt even stop anyone breaking the laws

In theory it's an easy thing to change, but they rarely get changed. Or they get changed after 20 years. After 19 years you're getting screwed though incomparison.
