Some Asian glaciers 'putting on mass'

Some glaciers on Asia's Karakoram mountains are defying the global trend and getting thicker, say researchers. A French team used satellite data to show that glaciers in part of the Karakoram range, to the west of the Himalayan region, are putting on mass. The reason is unclear, as glaciers in other parts of the Himalayas are losing mass - which also is the global trend. The region's glaciers are poorly studied, yet provide a vital water source for more than a billion people. The response of Himalayan glaciers to global warming has been a hot topic ever since the 2007 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which contained the erroneous claim that ice from most of the region could disappear by 2035. Although often regarded as part of the Himalayas, the Karakoram range is technically a separate chain that includes K2, the world's second-highest peak.

this earth is truly a strange and mysterious place. Unpredictable and unable to be explained.

We had better check with Al Gore. I have a feeling that this all just faked data put out by Manbearpig and his minions.

There have been cycles in the growth and recession of glaciers in recorded history, and that is but a small slice of time in the history of the Earth. I believe that climate change related to human activities is crock of stuff. Smelly stuff.

Hi, climate watchers.

Some glaciers on Asia's Karakoram mountains are defying the global trend and getting thicker. . .

As we all know it, the seas are rising, the coasts are eroding like crazy, perma-frost is
melting all over, and the ice on Groenland(Greenland?) is melting. . .etc. . .etc. . .

Let's hope that the quote IS true, and it will compensate, a little bit,
for the surplus of water flowing out of Groenland ! ! !

Blue skies.

Perhaps and interesting idea might be that the Earth's tilt has shifted such an infinitesmal amount that while we do not actually see it ( or TPTB do not want to publicize it), the change has shifted that part of the globe more to the north and a colder climate?
Remember how the Thailand earthquake affected the rotation of the Earth? Didn't the earthquake at Japan do the same? Does it not make sense that both those events might have had an effect on the tilt and the resulting anomalies in climate?
