Completely unable to play a simple AVI file~!??

yea.. I can't play a stadard AVI file in winamp (latest verison) why? ! But it will play on my wifes PC .. why?? what's going on??

I'm about to pull my hair out.. and very frustration .. !!!

any help here ??

No idea, I don't use Winamp anymore because I had problems with it. You should try a different video player, maybe DivX? Also, if you want a different music player, try foobar.

cool, thxc DDD, much appreciated.. odd that it will play no problem on my wife pc .. but not on mine.. both are virus free..

ETA: just downloaded it, let you know what if it works.

here's what i got from Foobar..
Unable to open item for playback (Unsupported file format):
"E:Praise ChapelApr 30 2008 - VID00001.AVI"

just use Video Lan VLC Player, it handles pretty much every file you can throw at it

Try VLC it plays pretty much all video files

Yep .. it plays in VLC.. totally forgot about that program.. thx guys~!!

VLC 1, Winamp and WMP=ZERO~!!

Yes, Foobar is a great music player, but it doesn't play videos.

Maybe, all you need is AVI extension? Try this www.filetypeadvisor.com... . I had the same issue. I could browse all my folders but when I tried to play any movies, I got a message "action not supported" . The FileType advisor tool helped me.
