It can drive about 50 leds with around 1/2 a watt off a 12v la battery.

Wow, I am really interested in this. That is some wicked power savings.

If it stays that way maybe I will go out and do some tinkering with the setup.

If you frequent Ebay and just look for deals, you can find a few here and there.

I haven't been able to take them out, it was nice the other day for a little while, but the clouds came in. Work has been dragging me down lately. 100 miles to the jobsite is draining. Excuse I know, but it is the truth.

I will try this weekend and take some pics.

I would like to add that I also have a 92 amp hour deep cycle battery to add to my collection.

It holds the juice pretty good. I have already used it on a power outage this summer. I mainly bought it for my little Jon boat, but it comes on handy around here also.

I was the only one on my block with a light on when the power went out.

I used a lamp with a 20 Watt energy efficient bulb. I was also intermittently running a. 8 amp small fan and a cell phone charger.

I could recharge my portable CB and run a small radio. I can't do it all ay once of course. But it is nice having a few options.

I am now posting on a cell phone so I cannot post pics anymore.

I really like this setup and can't wait to expand it.

i salvaged 14 bp moncrystalline solarpanels from sea bouys several years ago. they were badly corroded but after a clean and solder session, the output is as good as the day they were installed. manufacture year circa 74!
i've built several systems for friends using the sony 125w polycrystalline framed panels. great to work with, however make sure there is an air gap underneath the panel array.

I am lacking in the extra cash department so I think it will be a while before I get anymore.

I would love to have some 125 watters though.

It is mu goal to be completely energy independent before I croak. Only about 4 to5 thousand more Watts to go....lol...
