Wow...this is almost as good as the lady that burned herself with coffee and sued. I wonder where this case will go? I can't believe that any attorney would even listen to this case. Really...suing McDonald's for pushing you to prostitute? I can't wait to hear the zingers that will come from this one......

California Woman blames McDonalds for prostitution...

California Woman Sues McDonalds - Prostitution

A California woman has reportedly filed a federal lawsuit against McDonald's, claiming the fast-food franchise had a role in her becoming a prostitute two decades ago.

Yeah....I have a few buddies that are attorneys and I can't believe some of the stories they tell me about requests and questions from people regarding if they have a case to sue. Frivolous lawsuits are just a part of what kills the justice system. That and fraudulent lawsuits/insurance claims.... It is insane the number of frivolous suits that are brought up every day.

I find it a little mis-leading. She's not suing the corporation as a whole, but just an ex who happens to be a franchise owner. MacDonalds didn't make her become a prostitute, if her claims are correct, the ex-husband did.
Whether MacDonalds followed the proper procedures before they made him the proprietor of the store or not, it was his actions, not the action of MacDonalds that lead to her prostitution.

Actually.....

Shelley Lynn sued her ex-husband, Keith Handley, his company Ivernia, and McDonald's USA, in Federal Court.

Well it's more the ex-husbands fault for pimping her out from a drive through window. Then again it's not like he put a gun to her head and said give that guy an extra desert....

Can just imagine the conversations at that establishment.

Casher: Will that complete your order?
Customer: Yes.
Casher: Would you like a happy ending with that?
Customer: No thanks... But now you mention it I will take a warm apple pie.

Ha ha, I know where Arroyo Grande is...It's below San Luis Obispo on the beach. Travelers going up and down the coast might stop at the Mickey D's there for some road food. Back in 1982, probably much less than today.

Although I agree that McDonald's is notoriously hostile towards unions, this lady claims her ex husband forced her into prostitution in NEVADA? How is he going to run his franchise in Cali and also force this woman to stay as a worker in a cat house hundreds of miles away? Like she couldn't have stepped out to have a cigarette and then kept on going?

Here's the real story: Said ho is old, worn out, and lost her job turning tricks. In a desperate attempt to support herself, she decides to sue her ex and the company who franchises him because they have deep pockets and she'll never have to worry about paying the rent or where her next hit of crack will come from again. Even if her suit is frivolous and makes no sense, she and her ambulance-chasing bottom-feeding attorney might get paid to go away.

As much as I dislike McDonald's (I haven't eaten there in over 5 years), if I were them, I would ignore this crazy woman and let them do their nonsense in court, because they will lose.

If she wanted to draw attention to their crappy treatment of employees, she should have done it 30 years ago.

If I could give multiple stars I would.....

That was exactly what I was thinking. Now that she has regrets from her life and can no longer run the cat house she decides to do this....if she really had issues with her lifestyle then it should have changed PRIOR to 30 years later.
