Verizon 3G Issues related to Solar Flares last night?

Did anybody in Southern America around the Florida area have a lack of 3G coverage last night around 730 PM? I had to call my dad and console him on a friends death and it was really weird that I didn't get service. I tried to look online for power outages, or verizon services being down, but couldn't find any info.

I think it could have been from powerful solar storms

There has been no unusual solar or geomagnetic activity for quite a while.
It's highly unlikely that solar or geomagnetic activity would affect 3G or any other cellular systems.
