Seems RP took a sweep of the STL caucus today but partnered with Romney in Jackson Co. (Kansas City)? That is odd.

Seems that some deal was struck days, or weeks, in advance by the local campaign ppl long before the caucus goers ever showed up. In the end, these campaigners appear to have sold the caucus goers out by making a back room deal.

Two people attempted to nominate a RP slate and were denied. The below link doesn't tell the whole story. The slate they nominated was the slate given by the RP campaign in Jackson Co. Because a deal was made the chair (a RP supporter named Mark Anthony Jones) refused to allow a vote on the pure RP slate. He then challenged the people who nominated it to provide a list of names, which they did not have because the campaign had the list, duh. So, even though he had the slate he pretended he didn't so he could disqualify the RP supporters and get a vote on his compromise slate.

In the end the numbers look good. Overall it looks like RP got 80% of the delegates. However, you have to look at the breakdown and know what isn't being said. RP's supporters gave Romney the 3 national delegates that aren't to be elected until NEXT MONTH at district. In return RP gets to win the 6th district, come in close on the 5th, get all state delegates and all alternates. Sounds great, except Romney gets 3 national delegates without any competition.

Sigh. So the RP local folks turn on the local RP supporters to support their pre-determined back-room deals. Sad. We need a new party. Doesn't matter that these people "support" RP, they are still GOP and act that way.

This group of about 25 people who have been leading the Ron Paul movement in Kansas City with their blood, sweat, and tears, decided that between Santorum and Romney, Santorum was the most dangerous “to the concepts of liberty”. Therefore, they agreed to dialogue with the Romney camp about a possible compromise slate. Later in the week leaders of the local Paul strategy team met with the attorneys from the Romney team and hammered out a compromise.

ah, ok. Link? Then close this. But a link would be nice.

EDITTOADD: Can't find it. I see lots about the caucus last week. I am talking about this week. MO did it twice, STl and KC moved theirs to avoid St. Patrick's Day celebrations. So, a link would be great, otherwise I think mine is new.

Well I'm not really a Ron Paul supporter but, I know politics. There's nothing wrong with partnering with an enemy to destroy a mutual thread. The campaigns are strategic wars so the only bad thing is info leaking out, because when people don't know how politics works they make the wrong assumptions.
