This is written by a man that admits in the article that he has been a long time supporter of our current President. At least he has the gut's to admit it. I called this almost a year ago that Obama isn't planning on having any elections and that he would evoke martial law. If that happens we will then see what modern American's are made of. And up until this point they haven't had a good showing

What a big surprise. Why is it that so few could see this coming. I for one suspected it a long time ago and called it on here. Folks we are in trouble. Obviously there will be resistance. I don't think our military would follow, SO wheres that leave us? UN troops? A good possibility considering Obama ignores our Congress like they are no needed and bow's to the UN. What do you all think will be the trigger if it happens? Do many of you suspect it will. I will say this he certainly isn't acting like he's up for reelection.

If he invokes Martial Law, i dont think the US will be the only nation that follows, i can see the same for several other countries. If they do, we only have 1 alternative and that is to stand and fight for our freedom, anyone who doesn't is a traitor to their fore bearers.

I personally find it troubling that the Media and some people seem to be under the impression that they are in what is being referred to as "Peace Time".

I was under the impression there are multiple wars being fought under the umbrella of War on Terror.

So war does actually mean peace now?

This is often said about the president of the US in election year-The same was said about GWB,that he would enact martial law and remain prez for life...
And it was probably said about the previous presidents as well.

Not saying it won't happen this time,but I doubt it.
I think Obama will sail through the elections into a second term-the republican's got to much in fighting going on to mount a proper campaign it seems to me.

People were saying the same things about Bush before the 2008 elections after he signed the EO updating the Presidential Martial Law authority.

Don't believe the hype....

I don't believe President Bush was under investigation for not being a US citizen. Ayres mailman signed an affidavit claiming that Ayers raised the foreign born student. If you had read the article you wuld have seen it was written by a man that admittedly has been a long time supporter. When the man put peace time in hi article, I beleive he was referring to there being no reason FOR martial law.

So many people just simply oblivious to what is going on.

If he invokes martial law I can guarantee you, I'll be joining the Southern Army. It would form trust me, we already have the weapons, ability (trust me if you've ever hunted with a southerner I can assure you they won't be seen.) and hell racism is pretty much dead, and the few who are, are ignorant. It would be a suicide mission to implement martial law.

As an outsider looking in I'm amazed anyone would give serious consideration to this.

How could he ever possibly justify it and get away with it?

Surely only in a case of a major national emergency like an imminent invasion of the US mainland from a foreign force, an ongoing major military war with another superpower or an E.L.E. would this ever be possible.

As none of these scenario's are likely then it's just alarmist scaremongering.

If Obama or any future POTUS was ever to try such a move then I very much suspect that the American people would take the appropriate action.

This is a commentary piece and a very minimal one at that. We've been hearing cries of impending martial law for years now and, frankly, I think people need to get a grip. And, no, I'm not in denial. I am quite aware of how this administration and the previous one have trampled on The Constitution. This is a fact that should not be taken lightly. But, for God's sake, people.......don't you think in order to pull something like this there would have to be a REASON?! You think some random day in the next week or so Obama is gonna just wake up and say, "Okay, today's the day....let's initiate martial law on the entire U.S." and then our own military is gonna swoop in and fill our streets.....under what grounds?
