It is not always about "racists" when they change the name of food. In many European countries Mars had a chocolate bar, that was called "Raider".
I always wondered, who invented that name and how it would be perceived in English speaking countries.
A few years ago they changed it into "Twix" and since "Raider" was a very succesful product they ran a campaign over month saying "Raider now is
called Twix!"
Later I learned that it never was called "Raider" in the UK, but always had been "Twix".
Another odd name is "ACE" - at least here in Germany. It is used for a juice, meaning the juice has vitamines A, C and E. What makes it sound bizarr
is the fact, that there also is a detergent called "Ace" - one of those things with the warning "Keep out of reach of children!" on it.
