If you travel south west a bit to Mansfield you'll find the Mansfield Reformatory . a very haunted prison ( they used that prison to film shawshank redemption ) .. I've personally never had any experiences there, but it's inevitably going to get suggested .. and it really is an awesome place to visit.

Otherwise, check out the haunted ohio book series.. it has a lot of sites from all over the state that are described

Good luck

If you're going IN Cleveland, lock your car doors

But there's a few presidents houses that's been turned into museum houses in Northern Ohio.

True, I live 10 mins away from James A. Garfields Mansion in Mentor, Ohio.

It's a cool place

And if you visit, Mentor, don't sound like an out of towner and call it MenTOR. We pronounce it Menner.

Go to Elyria, Ohio, a place called Holy Love Ministries, you can google it

Supposely the Virgin Mary and Jesus appear there...

Even if you dont see anything out of the ordinary yourself you can still checkout the lake they have there and the "Supernatural" pictures there, they have them in a big book, hundreds of out of the ordinary photos..

Here's the website...www.holylove.org...

If you're coming to Cleveland check out Franklin Castle. It's privately owned at the moment but certainly worth pursuing if you're serious. The place has quite the history and if nothing else worth a couple of exterior photos.

Cleveland's Franklin Castle has the distinction of being known as Ohio's most haunted house. It is a big, dark building with stone walls, a turret, and a six-foot wrought iron fence. Hans Tiedemann, a german immigrant who got rich from his barrel-making business and later the banking industry, built the house in the mid-1800's. The count varies, but it was supposed to have 21 rooms. It also featured a fourth floor ballroom accessible by its own staircase, marble fireplaces, dumbwaiters, wine cellars, and numerous hidden passageways.

The house has been a clubhouse for a German Singing Society, home to a German Socialist organization, a doctor's office, apartments, a party house, and even a home to bootleggers.

Several years ago, the owner at the time opened it up to tours and I always remember the stories told by a local radio host who was scared stiff by his visit there.

It may become a condo complex. I'll pass...

Cheers have fun in Cleveland. If you head to Franklin Castle Grab a beer at the Great Lakes Brewing Company nearby.

Don't forget "The Christmas Story House" too!

You could go to gore orphanage/swifts hollow, or Helltown. Your best bet is to go to Helltown. There's more to do and see there but there's also a lot of police presence to try and deter visitors.
