Sometimes it's just like fire and when the rage reach the head it hurts. Maybe it depends on whether is the CME positively or negatively charged. Sometimes I feel the worst headache right after the UV-flash and when the solar wind comes few days later nothing.
It also depends on the state of geomagnetic field and air pressure.
