Iran's Nuclear Reactor's: The same technology as Chernobyl? Yikes..

It appears one of Iran's main nuclear reactor's has a lot of the same technology as Russia's Chernobyl facility. While the west goes crazy over a threat in Iran's nuclear weapons that may or may not be true, lax safety standards the Iran's may learn from the Russian appear to be a much bigger concern. Maybe this is the real story in the whole Iran nuclear drama?

Not surprising. Most countries don't sell there most advanced (and dangerous) technology to other countries.

The bigger issue with the Iran having the technology (if I remember right) was the Russians were giving them Breeder Reactor tech. Breeder reactors while good as reactors are also good for creating fissionable materials for Nukes.

Theres more to it than that bud......The reactor was built by seimens of germany first
It was bombed by the Isrealis
It was rebuilt by the russians on top of the Seimens design....The russians used the materials on site as well as their own to finish the reactor.....
This whole process took decades.......
The climate there in the place where the reactor sits gets up to 130 degrees daytimes, and cold at nights....
Stainless steel will RUST in this climate.!!!!
The parts are in some cases the origonal german ones mixed with newer russian stuff....
Imagine how degraded the old parts may be sitting out there in that climate for that long........
There is ample room for concern with the reactor itself........
Lets hope it doesnt blow up, as we will get the blame.......

very different reactors the iranians use a relativly modern vvrr reactor as used all over eastern europe germany and china Chernobyl used an old style rbmk 1000

Whatever it is, the russians built it using salvaged parts from the first one and changed the original design as well...its a scary picture in a location that is closer to 6 capitals of foriegn nations than it is to teheraan......
If it screws up, there will be a lot of heaavily choked rich arabs........
