Dog owners in the uk..postmans at it again

hi all

just listening to the radio (magic 105.4 fm)
waiting for a call back from a new employer (bit nervous lol)
just heard on the news

4000 complaints from postmen about dogs biting them
an Official investigation is being launched

sorry no source some kind ats member may find it
it did give me a chuckle
if it aint 1 thing its another
i missed that bus crash in coventry yesterday by 10 mins
things are getting silly
please be gentle
im waiting for a job interview (the emplyer is very interested but very busy)

I don't think it's a small complaint, i have friends that are postmen and i for one don't see why they should get thier hands bitten when posting mail (doing thier job) through your door.

There should be some control over the dog as sometimes they can be sitting waiting behind the door and with no warning boom they're jumping all over the place trying to eat you

Personally, i think the posties should just take the mail back to the sorting office and make people come get it if they are unwilling to put a warnings or keep thier dog under control.

ive had a quick search as am busy... but didnt come across much.... i have found this though;

FED-UP posties will today demand tougher laws against dangerous dogs. Six-thousand postmen and women were bitten delivering mail last year.

although this was published last december.... it is the most recent article on the subject i could find....
once im finished my missions i shall have another look... as i have dogs myself and they have never ever bitten anyone, they greet the postie with wagging tails !

hya i can relate

i had the same paper round for 4 yrs 1989
a dog bit me (white scotty)
i didnt complain but one day i was off someone filled in for me
the same dog bit him
he complained and the dog got put down (it drew blood)
i was angry with him (the guy)
it was an old dog with an elderly owner

sorry imo
the owner had a stroke and she always kept the dog in the house
this was just an accident and we delivered papers in the village at 6am
the dog may have thought burgler

i feel ur pain lol.... its really hard to find work... im on an island off the west coast of scotland... nae jobs here like
but there may be something in the pipe line for me .... fingers crossed
