Once again, if they are smart enough to be able to clone a 10,000 year old mammoth. I'm sure they know exactly what kind of precautions to take. It's not like biological engineering is something any idiot can do.

Also a lot of vaccines for diseases actually exist and just aren't available. For example, in Germany ACCIDENTALLY, while treating lukemia, scientists found THE CURE FOR HIV. But because it was in Europe and found using stem cell research the US will most likely not recognize it as legitimate. The answers could be anywhere

This would be interesting. There could be good and a bad result from this though. Maybe they carried a disease that will wipe us out so proceed with caution.

It would be awesome to clone a caveman.

When Quantum Cloning technology comes around from the future, we will be able to clone into the future and clone from the past/future. Imagine the possibilities! We could clone a futuristic evolved human into our timeline's universes.

haha I was thinking the same thing.

Also to the guy 3 posts up. I really doubt them cloning a prehistoric animal would carry a disease that would kill the whole planet off. The chances of that are probably less than there being a volcano under the white house or Hitler rising from the grave and killing everyone

Hey you never know! Maybe mammoths can create blackholes wich would destroy the planet.

awesome that they found a "perfectly preserved" mammoth thigh bone with frozen, intact marrow cells!

whilst this scientist chick argues its impossible to find a complete nucleus, perhaps she wasn't aware of the claimed frozen, preservation level that the korean and russian scientists are claiming, as well as a novel, mild anti-freeze characteristic that mammoth blood purportedly exhibits.

assuming the korean & russians aren't exaggerating their claims, all that remains left to do (hurry it up already!) is inject the recovered mammoth nucei into elephant eggs, electrically shock to trigger artificial fertilization (fusion) and hope they're lucky to get one/some that embryonize then transfer to the surrogate elephant mom.

they've been planning this for years but recently said its in the works finally, who knows, we shallsoon see!
