Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh on Thursday in Vienna said continuous threat of Israeli aggression against Iran's nuclear facilities violated IAEA resolutions.

"The resolution 533 in 1990 considers any attack or threat of attack against nuclear institutions or facilities as violation of the United Nations charter, statute of the IAEA and international law," Soltanieh told reporters on the sideline of a IAEA meeting of board of governors.

Therefore, Israel, continuously violating this resolution, has violated the United Nations charter, the ambassador said.

Of course Ali Asghar Soltanieh will speak in the defense of Iran, but
I think he makes a good point.

Illegal or not, it will happen eventually

This may be a way to get Israel to back off.

I don't believe Iran has nukes and wouldn't find any advantage in attacking Israel given the willingness of foreign nations to bomb the snot out of them!

We know that the UN will not pursue actions against Israel for breaking this charter, but it attempts to bring the aggression down a notch.

I took a look at Resolution 533, here's the .pdf: www.iaea.org...

Their goal?

(a) Having considered the agenda item "Prohibition of all armed attacks against nuclear installations devoted to peaceful purposes whether under construction or in operation",
Note that they're only protecting "installations devoted to peaceful purposes."

And how do they know if it's peaceful?

2. Considers that the safeguards system of the Agency is a reliable means of verifying the peaceful uses of nuclear energy;
So, Iran prevents the IAEA from determining the site is peaceful, then claims the protection of the resolution?

Creative diplomacy, but any lawyer would be around it in a minute. There's no reason for Iran to feel smug about this move.

Without being crass, one has only to figure it out.
Israel gets sh**loads of funds from the US.
TPTB use oil as a source of power.
Iran has a lot of oil.
Iran will not deal in the US currency, so follow the money.

I do not think this will affect Israel in the least as it is only one more of the multitude violations on her record, but it is always good to get it public, maybe more will start seeing there is a pattern with Israel in her disrespect of any law that does not suit her.
