Ron Paul would be a one term President because in eight years time he should be dead. Paul is 76 years old.

According to the latest figures, average life expectancy in the United States is 77.6 years.

Ron Paul should be dead by pretty soon. I would be more worried about the guy dying from old age than from being assassinated. I think Ron Paul is a better option than Romney or Obama but I think that his age is a serious issue. His Vice President choice would be pretty important if a miracle occurred and he actually won.

Carol is no spring chicken either. She could be the first First Lady to die from old age.

His age has been questioned in the debates, and Paul has challenged any of his competitors to a 20 mile bike race in the Texas heat, and they have all laughingly declined and admitted his health is of no concern.

77.6 is the "average," which means many live much longer, and many die much sooner. Paul will reach well into his 90's as long as he is not elected.
If he is elected, and he sticks to his agenda, he may not last long, but I'm pretty sure he has calculated and accepted that risk.

That's all he'd need.

His dad lived to be 92 while his mom lived to be 93. So he will be fine. He'll only be 84 after his second term ends.

I honestly think that will be good enough for him. Judging by his age and all, I am sure that a wise man in a one term presidency can pave the way for a younger generation of presidents to follow...He will be more of a role-model in other words.

Actually, Paul's life expectancy is now 88.6. For every year you live, your life expectancy increases, because you have already survived many pitfalls of just being alive.

Life Expectancy at 75:
The news just keeps getting better -- if you make it to 75 your life expectancy increases to 86.8. You gain another 3.4 years. That means the average 75-year-old will live 9.3 years longer than the average child born in 2006. Sound like funny math? It's not, it is one of those weird things that statistics does. So don't be discouraged when you outlive the current average life expectancy at birth. Only the oldest person in the world can outlive his or her own life expectancy. For the rest of us, there is always someone older.

Actually, I just re-read that quoted portion and this line struck me funny.

Only the oldest person in the world can outlive his or her own life expectancy. For the rest of us, there is always someone older

Once someone outlives their own life expectancy, of course their expectancy goes up. It is kind of like reading a 50% chance of rain as it pours down upon you.

So, there is some expectancy when you are born, and then for each year that you age the expectancy is shifted. When someone is 80, of course we don't say their life expectancy is 77, because we know that is already false.

That is all he needs. One good term to clean out the executive branch.

It would be a dream come true if Ron Paul was allowed to be president. It's as likely as Donald Trump becoming president. The elite have already chosen the president. Just another puppet. Is Obama any different from Bush? Nope, just two puppet liars.

If the government was not run by a gang of crooks, then Ron Paul would be perfect.

Sigh...the things people here on ATS debate.

His age, and whether he would be a two-term President, is irrelevant - as he will never get elected to the Post in the first place.
