The signing of the surrender of Japan...

My job lets me meet people everyday, I am a business man, who works in the residential area's America, I meet people everyday, and every now and then, I meet special people, and today I met a very special man, he was a ww2 Navy vet, who fought for my freedom, against japan. He was full of stories, I was their at his home to work on one of his appliances he was also familiar with what I do, because in 1944 on the ship he was on the refrigerant tech, who was in charge in keeping their food cold and cool, died.. And his co came before him and everyone on the ship asking who had experience in refrigeration, now back then they used Nitrogen to keep their food cold on their ships, and anyhow he had met a scottish lad who explained to him the theory of refrigerant, and lo and behold he had a tad bit of experience, well he was handed a stack of books and told to go down into the ships hull where the food was and make it work... And he did.

Anyhow my client was one of 10 people still alive who witnessed the signing of the surrender of japan, and let me tell you he told me how he felt about japan 50 plus years later..

One of the greatest men I have ever met...

he showed me burns on his arms from the atom bomb, he says he received and is fighting the VA, for help with.
He told me lotsa war stories as well..

I dunno why I am posting this, maybe just to remind all Americans,
we need to respect our ww2 veterans,
and how special they are,
I was honored to listen to every words he said to me,
and also honored he told me stories of ww2
did you know General MaCarthor schooled the Japanese generals for two weeks on how to act, walk and talk before they signed the surrender papers... he described to me how these admirals for the japenese army looked in top hats and coat tails....

I was just honored to be in this man's presence today...

I sold him a product one he needed for pennies on the dollar today,
I am actually losing money to help this ww2 vet be comfortable in his home...

I think we should all pay our damn respects to our ww2 vets, and when or if you ever run into them,
listen to them speak...

so rich...

I will never forget Albert...

Americans are responsible for destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki and killing hundreds of thousands of civilians, that was less than 70 years ago.

Yet Americans cry when 3000 people die in a false flag attack, no wonder the world hates you.

Your vets are not heros?

How did they fight to save your freedom in WW2? They never fought for Americas freedom they fought for other countries.

Deny ignorance.

That's just awesome man. I know a man named Mr. Ford, I work at walgreens photo lab and he come in sometimes to make copies of his pictures. He was an infantryman who went up through Italy, into France, then to Germany. He fired artillery there. Just a great guy, I never get tired of helping him with his orders. Those men are the greatest alive, we owe them everything and every vet I meet is so humble and gentle about it. Great stuff.

The Japanese were given every chance to surrender. What do you expect? It's not like the decision was a light one. You deny ignorance.

I will do this once, and only once.. First of all get your history in order First, before you claim America, just nukes Japan, for sport...

Truman, demanded surrender from the Japanese before we dropped the atom bombs on them, before and after the First bomb....

They refused....

Let me say that again...

they refused..

The Japanese Bombed pearl harbor, in a sneak attack...

Hoping to cripple us and conquer us..

they failed and paid the consequence...

Pay some respect and do not pollute this thread, with your personal idealism of hate towards America, Because when you do not have your history in order it makes you look like a bigot..

Japan, was given a chance to surrender...

They did not...

Don't ever try to make me feel bad for being American, again...

You need to get some knowledge..

speaking of ignorance...

No the truth is the Japanese were virtually defeated in all but signage. Their navy was destroyed as well as their air force. So they believed they would be able to hold out within Japan itself.

You cant even compare Pearl Harbour to the bombing of Hiroshima and nagasaki.
Pearl Harbour was a military port with tiny casualties while Japans were actual CITIES with real people in them that you annhialated.

There was no need to kill that many people yet you justify it with Peal Harbour, you make me sick.

Japan got us involved, they attacked us first and wanted world control. Hitler would have never stopped, he wanted to control the world. I don't hold anything against the people of these countries even though my father was a POW in WW2.

LOL, another ignorant American.

Firstly it was America who forced Japan into attacking it by banning oil exports.

Secondly, Japan never wanted world domination they wanted to get rid of all Europeans living within Asia. Hitler also never wanted world control, he wanted to cleanse Europe of the Jews, nothing more.

Oh wow your father was a POW, so that makes you think your the victim?
No its the other way around its Japan that should forgive America for the bombings of their cities, not the tiny attak on Pearl Harbour.

If Japan hadn't surrendered the US was planning to invade Japan.

I believe they were projecting something like a million US casualties.

My grandfather was a Seabee who fought at Okinawa.

If it wasn't for those bombs I probably wouldn't be here today.

Hiroshima was a city of both industrial and military significance. A number of military camps were located nearby, including the headquarters of Field Marshal Shunroku Hata's 2nd General Army Headquarters, which commanded the defense of all of southern Japan.[55] His command consisted of some 400,000 men, most of whom were on Kyushu where an Allied invasion was correctly expected.[56] Also present in Hiroshima was the headquarters of the Fifty-Ninth Army, and most of the 224th Division, a recently formed mobile unit.[57] The city's air defenses comprised five batteries of 7-centimetre (2.8 in) and 8-centimetre (3.1 in) anti-aircraft guns.[58] Hiroshima was a minor supply and logistics base for the Japanese military. The city was a communications center, a storage point, and an assembly area for troops

city of Nagasaki had been one of the largest sea ports in southern Japan and was of great wartime importance because of its wide-ranging industrial activity, including the production of ordnance, ships, military equipment, and other war materials.

So all the Japanese working there were "real people", but the US civilians and military at Pearl harbour were not....

Wow, as soon as an American is told the truth he backs into the corner and harshly throws words at me.

As in the words of Americans "God bless America"

Why does God only bless America? Why not say "God bless the world"?

God doesn't bless America he hates you for what you's have done to the native Indians, the Mexicans, the Spanish, the British, the Australians, the Canadians, the Japanese, and now the middle east.

When will America stop, in just the last 50 years America has been in over 200 wars. Thats more than some countries whose history dates back thousands of years.

You say I have lost YOUR respect, well I say to YOU, YOU HAVE LOST THE WORLDS RESPECT.

Almost everyone who died in Japan were ordinary civilians yes, there were some military personnel but hardly enough to justify the bombings.

While almost everyone in the attack on Pearl Harbour was a military personnel. Also please stop comparing the two, your attack on Japan was one of the worst war crimes of the 20th century. Hope your proud to be an American.

your a numb skull.. You sound bitter as hell, that America, and the allies, beat the crap outta the axis in WW2.... Ya we beat the snot outta Italy, Japan, oh and Germany... All you can say is how horrible we were to the enemy.. To save allied lives, Like Japan's attack on Pearl harbor was ok, because it was military strikes, like those navy men were not as important as civilians..

Your an idiot sorry mods, but I am calling a spade a spade.

Come on my thread disrespecting a damn ww2 vet with this argument... You sound bitter your either a natzi, or some imperial Japanese kid still stuck in the old ways.

And you sure as hell do not listen...

It has already been said Japan, was told surrender before a nuke a dropped, and they said go screw yourself, and here you are decades later
saying its America's fault...

Go screw yourself, and get the hell of my thread before I call the mods on you...

Yep, the US sure did. You do know that this was after the Japanese did a few things, like the Rape of Nanking, the Bataan Death March, the murder of how many thousands of civilians and POWs? I'm sure you did a bit of research about that prior to your post, right?

Really? I guess none of the Axis declared war on the US during WW2, right?
None of the was looking to occupy the US if they were given the chance?
