Yes really.

Ive been missing my old pets alot recently and i wanted to get a new fun house companion and i remebered how cool it was as a kid when i handled a baby hedgehog. So i did some reading.

Turns out these awesome animals actually make extremly good pets, heres a run down of what i found
Hedgehogs:
Dont bark
Dont climb curtains or damage furnature
are clean and smell free
eat simple cat food and bugs
need just a small enclosure
can be trained to use a litter tray
rarly bite or be aggressive
smart
inquisitive
good memory (re litter training)
cute as a button
easily copes with varying tempratures

So i ask you all, got any other good pet ideas? Or you think a hedgehog is a good idea like i do!

You should get a cat, they are calming, more independent, easy to look after etc...

Get one like this one here and you cannot go wrong at all...

Go for it! If they're any thing like the vids roughly posted you're in for some good times

Mind you I didn't even know you can have them as pets, how easy is it to acquire one?

We had hedgehogs in our garden for a few years, they made a nest under our shed
. My mum used to put cat food out in the evening and they would come out to eat it.

I think you should go for it!

A pet skunk would also be cool
de-scented of course! I think it's illegal to do that to skunks bred in the UK though.

I dont like cats i think they are too arrogant.

Hedgehogs are not totally nocturnal, like cats they can either whener it suits them

Thanks for your posts guys, i think its going to happen soon, theres just so many pluses to such a weird yet cool animal and seemly no negatives - well apart from the odd prickle!

If and when i get one, i will post up a pic, and NO i dont want a huge thing that guy posted the poop from that must be monsterous! Im after the easy life and my new pet will get just that too

I had a pet rock, once.....It ran away

Hedgehogs are adorable but I agree with a previous poster. I wouldn't want a nocturnal pet.

Make sure you are wise to what the little HHogs eat and drink.
They are amazing animals, clever and athletic-really!

But a pet hedgehog would ideally need an acre or two, with a whole family of other H hogs to be a happy hog. .
They are not happy in a small area on their own.

And they won't really be a pet, they will be a wild animal at heart.
