You did a number on the situation with your post. Very insightful.
For anyone who has read the Strafor releases, a strange irony ensues about the situation. During the "cablegate" release by Wikileaks, Stratfor
workers called for the waterboarding of Assange. Discussed how he could be prosecuted, while at the same time George directed staffers to copy all
available leaked cables.
He asked that they be searched for the 1% of an intel dump that would be useful. As he believe 99% would be worthless.
While this happen staffers brought up the issue of legalities, where he directed to password protect the files to mitigate their liability with
hosting classified government documents that still carry a restriction with republishing.
Not only that, but Stratfor's own directive is to exploit and manipulate sources to boost their intelligence reports which are in turn sold at profit.
And you also have the leaks that showed intent on setting up a trading company so Stratfor could capitalize of insider information.
Hey, it's dog eat dog world, now Stratfor is on the other side, it's not a nice place to be.
I wonder who exactly is their competition though? That is the most curious part to the story for me.
Edit to add: They even discuss in internal emails on how to manipulate information by doing things like sending out a "fake email", or planting
evidence. Which I think is funny. Even if it wasn't them who released the resignation letter.
