Hello all!

I've actually been viewing the site for some time now and decided to become a member. I'm a former KC-135 Boom Operator with over 2,000 hours flying (Some over Groom) and did a bunch of TDY's to Edwards for testing of programs, mostly the F-22. I got some pretty cool photo's I would love to share with you guys. They may not be the best clarity but they are rather intriguing.

It sounds like you've got some stories to tell and the pictures to go with it. It's pretty refreshing to see groom lake form a different angle for a change; I really hope there's plenty more of those. Do you have access to a scanner?

Hello to you Sir. Were glad you decided to stop by and sign up.. Were awaiting (after your 20th reply to posts), of your being able to make up your own thread and discuss any and all topics on your mind.

Here's a few thoughts before getting onto any one of the 1000's of topical rides at Above Top Secret, also known as ATS, the world's largest Civil & Unique Discussion Community.


* Please check out those links posted above before getting on one of the rides. This will save you a lot of future stress, frustration and possible action by one of your friendly neighborhood Mods!

* Please be sure to act like an 'civil' adult and are at least this tall to get on any of the rides, (Johnny stretches his arm outward).

* Please remember that some members are very passionate and vocal depending on what ride your all on. You should be mentally fit, stable and have a strong stomach for theories, conjecture, research and evidence presented that may be contrary to your own.

* Please be "open-minded" enough to understand that sometimes the ride isn't always what you might expect. Be aware you also might end up learning something new and 'out-of-the-box' before you get off the ride.

* Please note that at times the ride gets overly-heated and "it's strongly suggested" to get off the ride to regroup one's thoughts before continuing. This will also help guarantee that the ride will move forward without getting derailed or explode into a fiery trashbin.

* Please have fun! But be aware that if you act in an uncivil-like manner, use profanity, intentially spread a hoax and/or get verbally abusive, you will be removed off the ride by a Moderator. This is not only for your safety, but also for those both young and old on the ride with you.

Not a scanner per se, but my iphone has a scanner app! And I do have some more pictures. Guess I'll have to get to responding!

Thanks! I hope I can contribute. I do have some cool stuff to share. A lot of it has been bottled up for a while now because of the classification of projects, but now that their coming to light I can talk more about them.

Indeed..!

ATS can be quite over-whelming at times. I've been here for years and there are still times I have to take a step back and go WOW, I need to visit this section area of the forum more often!

Anyway.. I too have to admit that you have my mouth watering here also, and can't wait for you to complete the required 20 posts replies (as mentioned above, if you visit other intro-threads in this section, you'll be done in no-time-at-all).

As for more pics of groom, I have a couple. But most of my pics are of flying over the whole test range and pics of the f-22 during test phase and some other aircraft that I can't talk about yet...I got some pics of the grey (not black) f-117s that flew out of Palmdale too. I guess I need the 20 posts before getting pm's too? I'll knock it out after work tonight.
