Not sure i like that speech.. kinda wormongering was it not?
Remind me please... Why was Reagan such a great president? He seems to have been in on one of the greatest conspiracies of all times (The Yama$hita gold in the philipines coverup) as he was the signer of alot of the Ferdinand marcos gold.... and that is not a very good thing in my book.

Reagan's military buildup and competition with the Soviet Union not only kept America safe but also won the Cold War without firing a shot, in Margaret Thatcher's memorable phrase. At home, he persuaded Congress to pass an economic recovery program—centered on cutting marginal tax rates—that sparked an unprecedented period of peacetime prosperity. As important, Reagan lifted the country out of a great psychological depression induced by the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. and sustained by the Vietnam War, Watergate, and the Jimmy Carter malaise. He did so by appealing to the best in the American character. As he explained in his Farewell Address, quoting the Constitution, "We the People" was the underlying basis for everything he tried to do as President.

Every great leader was preceded by conspiracies. He wasn’t perfect but look at his record versus those who followed.

Ronald Reagan was an excellent actor, loved the old black and whites. The speech he gave here was in support of Barry Goldwater for president and he wasn't President at the time. Unfortunately Ronald Reagan had Alzheimer's Disease at the end of his Presidency and really needed people telling him what to do.
I will always remember him for exactly opposite of what he said in that speech as he did back down and did let Russia cross the line when they downed Korean passenger Airline flight 007. He gave them a pass when people wanted reprisals. He saved the world from nuclear annihilation by getting on his knees by refusing to respond.
Hail to The Chief!

Meanwhile the rest of the world arms and modernized there militaries
It is suicide.

The largest in the world eh considering the majority of those weapon systems are based on 70 and 80s technology the same with every other branch.
Progress doesn't stop other world powers weapons systems can stand toe to toe and in most cases are newer and better.
Yeah anyone who becomes arrogant with the current power that people tout as the strongest have no clue what they are talking about.
Growing up every week i would hear military jets flying lowing altitude tree top level and that was during the Reagan era and that is a sound i have not heard in 25 years.
And other military aircraft.
