I bought a WW2 Radar instrument by accident. Anyone with a bit of experience? I have pictures

Looks like it's just the diplay from a radar, There are not enough tubes for it to be the complete unit meaning the tx-rx part. The tube with the metal cap is the high voltage for the crt display

Now that's a bit scarey......I am a retired Xray tech. (but I bet it was fun).

We used lithography film to x-ray road kill. One of my friends in sixth grade was a taxidermist and we used to x-ray his bird mounts as well. We triggered it remotely. I am sure we got some dosage, but we were aware and tried our best not to be close by when it went off.

Don't you know what you have there?

230V 50 Cycle seems built to run on Great Britain or Australian power systems. It could also be US equipment from a base in Europe, like Germany. www.kropla.com... It is not a radar but may be an old repeater as there are inputs for sender and receiver signals. The cans are capacitors. The tube with the cap is a high voltage tube like a 6B6 found in old television sets. There is a high voltage transformer somewhere in a cage along with a rectifier tube like 1B3/1G3. These are just to supply power and run the raster [scan lines] for the CRT tube. Without input output signals, you won't see anything but test patterns if you do get it running. Likely, the electrolytic capicators are shot so a power up should be done outside or you may fill your house with smoke.
Are there any nameplates that show model numbers? That should tip you off as to source and likely date -- this may be early post-WW2.
