Haha wow thanks for the link.. I remember reading something about this but this just seems crazy. It seems we have been given the tools to communicate to a wider audience of people but in exchange nothing is private... May have to delete my account.

Slightly off topic, but related too. I was just corresponding with another ATS member through gmail a day or 2 ago. And we were discussing the gulf oil spill from BP. As soon as I sent the email...2 BP ads pop up in my GMail page that are talking about their continued commitment to the gulf cleanup.

So yeah...I think quite a bit of most things we say is being monitored by someone. I did several more test emails and nothing close to the BP stuff.
Then sent another BP related email..and the SAME ads popped up again. I screen shotted it and was gonna do a thread as soon as I redacted parts of the email. But yeah..."they"...whoever that is has developed quite the software now to monitor our electronic words.....

Yeah the way in which these monitoring outfits go about their work is kinda disturbing. However what you mention may simply be target advertising. I mentioned the Gold Coast in one of my facebook status updates and 3 ads with the word Gold appeared on my page next time I went in to it. "buy gold" "gold coast holidays" all sorts. I thought it was kinda funny.

Well yeah...it is....but I'm guessing they use the same algorithm or pretty close in both Google and FB to do this "targeting."

No matter how you set your preferences. Either way...with your FB thing and that email of mine....the response was immediate. Pretty disturbing even with seemingly benign issues....

I deleted my facebook page about 2 months ago.

Might be the best thing I've done for myself in the last year. Facebook is a chatter mind machine. It took me long enough to quiet my own chatter mind. Last thing I need is a subscription to 500+ chatter minds.

As many others have already said, the same thing happened to me as well. Remember the Polish flight disaster? Well, here on ATS, a thread was posted containing a link to a blog containing a video that supposedly showed shady people walking amongst the ruins of the plane, I can't remember if they were holding guns, but it was definitely sinister. Anyways, I shared the link to the video with a friend of mine over Facebook Chat. Almost immediately after I shared the link, I was forcibly logged out.
I don't think that all these force-outs are coincidence. As someone said earlier, the CIA does monitor social networking websites. Someone is always watching . . . .

It's funny you posted this, because from THIS website (through twitter) every day I see a post about Iran and how evil they are.

Well the creepiness to my night continues......So a friend and I were chatting on FB chat about the great Alex Jones(Sarcasm he's not to great IMHO) shortly after I had posted some great Ron Paul vids when he and I were both logged out and informed our accounts had been suspended due to a 'security threat'.....And just when I start to shrug it off as mere coincidence I run upon this thread....FB May do this a lot, but the coincidences keep piling up like hot cakes, and this happening just before the March 8th FBI Internet server maintenance is pretty suspicious to me. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents

It's no secret that Google scans the content of emails in Gmail for certain keywords so that they can deliver text relevant ads. That, in fact, is something that Google has always been criticized for in regards to Gmail—as if Yahoo!, AOL or Microsoft leave your emails alone.

Without a doubt there is something to be said about those strange FB coincidences.

It does get frustrating at times. It is likley a smart "supercomputer" which tracks users by danger levels based upon a string of words the intelligence community fears.

For instance, hate, die, bomb, allah, etc.

this is conjecture on my part, but I have a feeling it's something along those lines. There are less FBI agents than there are people blogging and posting, so it has to be a "supercomputer."

And My name Is Matthew Graybeal, I have nothing to fear as a Free American who loves his country but loathes it's leadership.

Yeah, I reckon you were reported - your 'friend' out of spite/malice hit the report button -

Or, of course, it's just another FB eff up - Happens 'every now and then' to most of us -

Have to say though, this is one of the reasons I don't post those types of vids to FB anymore -

Our US 'friends' are easily offended and take umbrage quickly, and with vehemence !

Although I wouldn't be surprised if facebook were to monitor certain phrases or key words to prevent the users from posting alternative news and awareness, it could of just been that your friend was annoyed and reported you as spam or fraud, or if you logged on from another device such as an ipad or ipod.

Facebook in itself is creepy. Why people would want to know what their friends and family are having for dinner, or following their every move 24/7, is beyond me.

Yeah...I know. And I also know that Google just got caught last week going around their own privacy laws...I can't remember where this was, but a media investigation found suspicious code that skirted the privacy rules or lawn of the country this was in...

My point was...that yeah... it happens on Google. it happens on Face Book. No doubt in my mind. I have known for years that the CIA used some type of algorithm to listen for certain words in first phone calls...then to find them in e-mails to identify "potential unfriendlys."

So there is little doubt that now FB and Google and everyone else running social interaction media on the web use similar technology to that from years ago to target ads, or even potentially alert government agents even. Maybe that's what is happening in these FB cases.

With that said though... if these internet "engines" have this technology the CIA started using years ago...where is the CIA's technology now? They probably have exobytes of information on all US citizens that would make Google, FB and even ol Eddy Hoover look like alter boys.

The government spies on us?
Facebook is a data mine for everyone who don't need to know you. Why would you purposely put any real info (name, phone, address, mother/sister) on facebook? A website does not need your phone number, and does not need to know who my mother is...
