'The Colbert Report' abruptly cancels two show tapings, no date set for return.

I wonder could this be another tool to create buzz..I am guessing he will be back sooner than later..

"The cancellation was unanticipated. Ticketholders for Wednesday night’s show were told shortly before the show was expected to tape that it would not be happening.
In its seven year run, “The Colbert Report” has never suspended taping except to get a playful jab in at Senator John McCain when he suspended his presidential campaign in 2008.
The network’s “The Daily Show,” from which Colbert was spun off has only canceled production twice due to the death of a staff member and when host Jon Stewart became a father."

I love the Daily Show, but Colbert is just a non-funny mark off who looks like he's trying too hard.

I read he'd just be off for a couple or few days, and the flu is going around. Maybe he's just laid up for a well deserved rest to nurse a cold, or cold a nurse, as the case may be.

Isn't this more along the lines of entertainment news? Who really cares? Do yourself a favor, turn off the TV and read something.

Stephen Colbert is actually a pretty intelligent, entertaining man who has a good point and good things to say. He cares, thats why he's off the air, he has balls to say what's needed. I strongly support Stephen Colbert & Jon Stewart and I do hope he is back on the air ASAP !!!

They're saying there was a family emergency. Nothing else has been released yet.

Was he ever serious about running for President?

Foxnews had issues when Newt Gingrich, Huckabee and im drawing a blank on the other name were gearing to run for President. It had to do with being employed with a media outlet and a conflict of interest so to speak. The Issue was being able to use their job on the air to push their campaigns.

Maybe hes running?

It's genius. Colbert can make gold out of a piece of rock!

It's pretty obvious Jimmy Fallon and his new Ben & Jerry's flavor of icecream had something to do with it.
