This might be pushing it but I've never seen SO many people pulling for an Asian person, ever (not in the US anyhow). The Asian community has always been kind of looked down upon and forgotten. They are stereotyped to be a computer nerd, loving anime, and automatically know kung-fu. Jeremy Lin is obviously pretty smart but he's made everyone actually OPEN THEIR EYES so to speak, that other people can do something amazing as well. It's not such a black and white world after all.

It is the year 2012 and there is supposed to be a global conscience awakening, now obviously I know this Jeremy Lin story won't last forever but it's really opened doors for the Asian community now. Not just doors, but eyes, how people percieve them to be. I think this is great where this is going!

What are you guys thoughts on this?

Dear PerceptionReality,

I don't watch tv, all I know is what I have read about him. He seems to be a nice guy who spends a lot of time helping others and he doesn't seem stuck up. If you are successful and care about others then they will attack you, I am guessing he doesn't care. Seems like a good guy. Peace.

What I like about him is how hard he's persevered to make it to where he is. The pinnacle for any basketball player is to make it to the NBA and the Ivy League doesn't necessarily have the best record for grooming NBA talent. He was almost cut by the Knicks recently but got a break when some injuries hit and he's taken it! He's very humble and whenever questions are asked about him, he likes to put an emphasis on the team and his teammates. That's why I'm rooting for the guy. Though I didn't like him too much a couple of days ago when he put up some moves on the Lake show

Him being Asian is a plus. If you read his story, he didn't catch a lot of breaks earlier in his playing career in high school and college. Breaks that he should have gotten. Some of his past coaches and himself have said that his race played a factor in him going largely unnoticed for so long. How he could have gone unnoticed after leading his high school team to California state championship and putting on class performances at Harvard against formidable teams is beyond me! Good for him though, now he has a degree from arguably one of the best universities in the world and he gets to have his dream of being a pro bball player.

I'm an avid Laker fan and I don't like anyone in sports outside of the organization that I support. That being said, the kid is young and appears to be a good player. But he's basically the Tim Tebow of basketball. Highly over rated and just the flavor of the month. Give it a year and everyone will be saying Jeremy who?

I do believe that this is apart of a new age of awakening.

I won't go into the asian stereo types , but overall I believe "when one of us succeeds we all succeed".

I don't like the Tebow comparisons, But What I DO find particularly interesting is this move towards successful mainstream and popular athletes being self professed Christians (or positive, humble, decent people in general).

I saw in a grocery store line that Katy Perry (mk ultra puppet) was interested or trying to date Tim Tebow.

Let us hope that these individuals who have been awakened for the epic good vs evil show down can keep their wits about them.
