"Yeah, I'm gonna make stuff up"

A police team arrests a couple of young men on robbery charges. One of the men argues that they have nothing against them and to police officer says on tape "Yeah, I'm gonna make stuff up"

To all the police officers and defenders on ATS, I apologize, but you cannot defend this crew. If you do, you're obviously on the wrong side of the fence.

Well, I say # that donation nonsense. I'm not paying youtube.

As for the cops...well, I think we all knew that the police are pretty much thugs wearing "do whatever I want and get away with it" badges, right?

It's been years since the police were paid for actually doing their jobs.

One bad apple spoils lots of bad apples, and then the good apples watch. Now every attorney who had this guy face them in court should be petititioning for a retrial or for letting their clients loose. Many criminals will be let loose because of this, but if one innocent person is sitting in jail because of this guy, the doors should open.

This kind of thing makes me sick!!!!! And yes, I do, in fact work in law enforcement. By definition, law enforcement "broadly refers to any system by which some members of society act in an organized manner to promote adherence to the law by discovering and punishing persons who violate the rules and norms governing that society"

Part of the oath that sworn police officers take is that "I will never betray..." meaning betraying the trust of society. As far as I am concerned, this statement has gone by the wayside.

I do, however, caution all of the "cop haters" on here, by saying that there are A LOT of good cops out there. Idiots and animals like this give ALL a bad name. Like I have said before. It is a privilege to work in such a position, and if you cannot preform the job with integrity, then THEY should be punished to the full extent of the law that they are supposed to be upholding.

In just that 1 min video they, themselves racked up charges such as, civil rights violations, tampering with evidence, and extortion to name a few. Makes me SICK, and ASHAMED of my profession sometimes

Have you any idea why it is so difficult to get a "bad" cop punished to the full extent of the law? Why is it that the "brothers in blue" all stick together? Even when one, and only one, bad cop gives them a bad reputation, the 'good" cops will stick behind them in order to avoid getting the profession tarnished?

This is an honest question. Why protect what is putrefying the establishment?

I definitely understand your point. One thing you overlook is that, this is also not everyone. There are plenty of cops who will report and even testify on another officer. Police Departments also have Internal Affairs divisions. It is an IA inspectors job to fire and fry bad cops. And also, if you don't get anywhere with a complaint to a local unit, contact the state police and their IA. State Police arrest and give citations to city/town cops all the time.
I understand that I am in the minority here, with all the cop haters. But it is very ignorant to think that ALL cops are evil pigs and ALL of them look out for one another while they do unlawful things.
Think about it...there has to be a few a$$holes that you can't stand at your job.
