Dogfight from the ground.

I know it's very unlikely but has anyone ever watched a real jet dogfight from the ground? I was on the back patio enjoying a bowl and I started trying to imagine what that scene would look like. (History Channel 2 show about ww1 planes was on)

Then that thought progressed to... what would it be like to be an indigenous native of some place I'll never go with little to no contact with the technological world and witness a dogfight . THEN I wondered, "How would I describe what I saw to others?"....

I wish an archeological discovery was OPENLY made that fully explains what the strange things in the skies were, that ancient people saw and drew.
