Is is possible to fly in such a fly-machine after it's been buried? Does all that sand get into the works and knacker the bearings and things?

Evidence supporting the belief that Saddam Hussein may have buried his stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons has been uncovered, quite literally. The Department of Defense revealed earlier this month that U.S. search teams had discovered a squadron of fighter aircraft buried in the deserts of Iraq.
This is an excerpt from an article from August, 2003. I sorta found it on accident while looking for some pictures of migs. This may be old news to some, but I was totally oblivious to the finding of these jets last year... Anyhow Heres a few links, along with some pics to go along with it.
PS- for me, this makes the idea of Saddam having hidden stockpiles of weapons (Chem, Bio, Nuke, etc) not so "out of this world anymore". Iraq is a HUGE sandy place... who knows what can be sitting beneath the sands.

Actually most of the evidence of Iraq moving its WMD's to another country leads away from Iran (leads to Syria). Besides; Iraq, and Iran have not had the best of relationships in the past.

ok, who brought this dick here?
Apparently you think I have some type of "routine" to follow, but I can assure you I have no routine to follow at all... I only bring up the fact that the worlds intelligence agencies agreed with us so many times is BECAUSE THEY DID! Hell, even Kerry agreed there was WMDs in Iraq. (Theres even a new thread about him agreeing, a few topics up.)
In all reality, I think your explanation (Saddam made us -think- he had WMD's) is just as valid as my assumption that they were either moved from Iraq, or buried in Iraq.
I wasn't there, nor were you. We can only look at the facts, and come to a conclusion based on them... no need to assume I've got a song, and dance for you... because I DO NOT.
