The South African music scene has been rocked by the claim that a Zulu singer has returned from the dead. Police are investigating a man who says he is Khulekani Mgqumeni "Kwakhe" Khumalo, one of the best known figures in traditional maskandi music, who died in December 2009.

"It really is him," Khumalo's grandmother, Zintombi Mseleku, told South Africa's Sunday Tribune. Mseleku is one of several relatives – including the singer's daughter and two common-law wives – who insist the man who appeared on 29 January is the person they laid to rest two years ago, at a funeral attended

Well this is interesting even his grandmother thinks this is him,really weird,he dies in 2009 and says he has been with zombies for 2 years who tried to turn him into a water spirit. The police are doing DNA tests and expect the results later this week,if his DNA matches up with Mr Khumalo then the police will have to go to court to exhume the body that was buried in 2010.Seems he died in december 2009 from a poisonous potion brewed by a healer.

I wonder if the zombies have Elvis and Jim Morrison too?....

I guess we'll see if it's really him or not when the DNA test comes in. This could very well be an imposter trying to take his place....It is an odd story though considering how strongly the family believes it, so he may be who he says he is.

The man who claims to be the late KwaZulu-Natal maskandi musician, Khulekani Kwakhe “Mgqumeni” Khumalo, appeared in the Nquthu magistrate’s court on Tuesday to face fraud charges.

Sibusiso John Gcabashe, 28, will remain in police custody and his case was remanded to February 14 for a bail hearing,” Colonel Jay Naicker said.

Gcabashe was taken in for questioning on Sunday which led to the charges.

We think it is bit sick. Maybe the dude is possessed and stuff. Whatever it is, it does not sit well with us.

Sounds like a crazy imposter to me.

He looked healthy for someone

But police say the man's fingerprints establish that he is in fact Sibusiso John Gcabashe, 28.
