Workers with severe radiation exposure at the Fukushima nuclear plant had major reduction in cancer risk when supplemented with vitamin C and other anti-oxidative nutrients. Sixteen men aged between 32 and 59 years worked 5 to 6 weeks in a radiation contaminated area, collecting contaminated water, measuring radiation levels, operating heavy machinery, and removing debris. Blood samples were obtained to measure whole blood counts and blood chemistry, plasma levels of free DNA, and 47 cancer related gene expressions.

Four workers who took intravenous vitamin C (25,000 mg) therapy before they went in, and continuously took anti-oxidative supplements during the working period, had no significant change in both free DNA and overall cancer risk.

Three workers that did not have preventive intravenous vitamin C had an increase in calculated cancer risk. After 2 months of intervention with intravenous vitamin C and oral anti-oxidative nutritional supplements, free DNA returned to normal level and cancer risk score was significantly decreased. (1)

This important clinical demonstration confirms research done nearly 20 years ago showing that pretreatment with vitamin C, by oral intake or injection, increased sperm head survival after the injection of radioactive Iodine-131 in mice. (2)

Oral intake of alpha-lipoic acid and vitamin E reduced urinary radioactivity and oxidative stress in irradiated children in Chernobyl. (3) Furthermore, there have been numerous scientific studies about the radio-protective effects of other vitamins, minerals, and antioxidative nutrients.

Well, this is quite interesting news.

The fact that mega dosing on Vitamin C can prevent radiation damage is very telling, and showing that we do not get enough Vitamin C in our diet.

I said when people were panicking over Fukushima that as long as you are properly nourished there is no reason for radioactive isotopes to invade your body, minus plutonium. If your body is full of all the vitamins and minerals it needs then anything excess should just be passed through your system.

I wonder if this will be a push for nuclear power though, as if there is a preventative measure for radiation, than there is less reason to fear it...

Any thoughts?

It's crazy here sometimes...

The doom and gloom fear threads get plenty of action and the fact that we might be able to prevent radiation damage goes unnoticed, which many people fear.

I swear sometimes people need the fear, it's like they are addicted...

Funny world...

Very good find! Thanks for the info. 25,000mg of vitamin C is a TON though! I believe the recommended daily dose is like 100mg. I read up on vitamin C overdoeses and it seems that taking to much will damage the adenine bases in your DNA.

I am astounded! Simple Vitamin C helped these Fukishima workers survive that radiation exposure?? I wonder if injecting it was just a convenience over the option of taking over a hundred pills or does it make any other difference compared to swallowing it? Not all of us have the equipment or knowledge to do that at home or the money to pay a doctors costs. But we can all buy the pills in the store... I'm pretty sure that when you swallow a substance, not all of it goes into your bloodstream as opposed to injecting it. So some of it gets wasted as it passes through your digestive system, isn't that right? So in order to get the full benefit of 25,000mg of vitamin C, you might have to swallow 30,000-50,000 or maybe more, depending on what I believe is known as the "bioavailability percentage" of said substance. Does anyone know if that's true or not? I really wanna know how many pills to swallow if some radioactive shizzy goes down in my 'hood...

i have vitamin C tablets that you desolve in water, they are 1000mg or 1250% RDA
125 times over what your daily intake should be!!! no wonder everyone is sick

but i pain €1.17 for a pack of 20 which i think is very good comparing what you would pay in other shops for even less mg/tablet.

so i would have to take 25,000 tablets, and that is 25,000 devided by 20 = 1250 packets @ €1.17 each = €1068.37 per dose per day for me if i were living next to a nuclear plant melting down.

BUT vitamin C is a whole new topic i think. its is so beneficial for the body it has been proven to reduce and cure in some cases cancer, desieses(spl),ilnesses and flu,cold,viruses......
it really is a wonder vitamin!! and i personally take 3,000mg/day or 3750%RDA
along with other supliments.
i have not gottin sick for over a year and a half(and thats including a head cold!!)

Well here is a pack of 300 for $23, which works out to about $0.08 a pill. 1000mg x 25 = 25,000mg, 25 x $0.08 = $2.00 for a 25,000mg dose.

Not too much in my books, people spend

ok i cant edit it so here it is again lol :

20 pack = €1.17
1000mg/tablet.
1 tablet = €0.05
25,000mg = 25 tablets
25 times .05 = €1.25

so basicly the same..... €1.25 for 25,000mg

it seems now that it has been discovered how to give COMPARABLE does of vitamin c to intravenous vitamin c without needles.

here it is:-

i urge to save/spread the knowledge:-

I stumbled across some information about Bentonite clay yesterday when I was ordering some for my dog. I was looking for a cheaper version when I read it absorbs radiation. Here's where I read it.
www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com...
I buy a canine version of Bentonite. Boy, is it great stuff. Vaccinations and chemicals they call dog food, damaged his immune system and his liver and kidneys. We have brought him back from the threshold of death with purely holistic drugs. One for the immune system, liver and pancreas, one for his colon (clay) , and kidney support. We are also giving him artichoke extract which among other things, forces the liver to make more cells, along with the milk thistle that's in his liver meds. Just in the last 2 days we have started using extra virgin cocnut oil thanks to a previous thread. Wow, is it a necessary oil. My next dog will eat what God intended, not man created poison.
Thanks for posting this OP, we can all benefit from this info.

Vitamin C is needed in some processes involving Iodine in the body. Vitamin C is needed to properly use Glucosamine also. That's why we eat Jello. Some people uptake acetic acid better than vitamin C because they make the chemicals in their bodies to take apart vinegar when vitamin c is injested. The extra chemical our body creates isn't used and then becomes a problem. That's what I read somewhere anyway. I'de never take high doses of vitamin C for longer than a few days. I'm not very good friends with Bernie Butt
