Greetings one and all,
I wanted to bring this to the attention of all, especially the survivalists and "preppers" on the site.
El Paso Times
The people of the Sierra Tarahumara in Chihuahua Mexico, largely indigenous agrarian / agriculture based peoples, have for the last years experienced
the worst drought in 70 years.
The resulting harvest failures have resulted it massive food shortages, and starvation. Although food packages have started arriving, and the Fed Gob
has pledge to do something with the irrigation, the entire republic is mobilizing to support the people in the region.
My wife just asked me if we would donate some of our reserve, I told here that yes, BUT, in the case of drought we need to be clever about what we
send,m and I have told here to pass the word on to THINK about what "urban" people donate as to what is needed.
With all the aid that is going to remote places of the world, you never think it could happen on your own doorstep, Well it does. So if you haven't
heard about it, now you have. And it you want to get involved, I am sure there is a way.
Just to deter those politically minded of you. This is a HUMANitarian crisis, not a political one. These people are agriculturalists. They live the
way 90% of the people here profess they would like to. This is the result and they deserve our support.
Cheers!
JF
