Hi all atser's this is just a daft item something different
.
I received this coin in my change today ( in the uk ) and its a 1983 £1 coin.
I looked on the net and as far as i can see it has not been issued like this.

it looks like someone has ground it down and stamped what to me looks like KLINGON writing to me. No conspiracy here ( i dont think/or not yet lol ) .

my question to you my friends is ---------

1) if it is KLINGON - what does it say/mean
2) if it isnt KLINGON - what is it / where is it from.

my guess is its some trekkies initials ( bless lol )

any info would be great as i think it is cool, unique etc etc

i will sell for one million dollapound hahahahahahah only kiddin

thanks in advance

this is the original £1 coin coat of arms which you can see the tail of the lion on the klingon £ ( just using klingon until i/we find out what it is )

Just going to do some research,

Can you give us a photo of the other side showing the date please?

cheers mate, looks legit to me though, probably to commemorate something

Edit- I didn't know this but £1 coins only started being put into circulation in 1983 (to replace £1 notes, phased out in 1984).

Its more than likely one of the first ones, with the pattern to commemorate the occasion,

I don't think its Klingon !!

strangely enough,i use to have a klingon dictionary! ya i'm a trekkie, but not the nutty kind!
the coin sure does look odd,and i'm sorry,i dont read/speak klingon!
it might be just a fluke!
hope you can get some answers, and by the way,the federation uses credits, not cash!!!!

Here is some info on the designs - but no pictures of yours, yet.

The reverse designs are as follows. 1983, 1993, 1998, 2003 & 2008: Ornamental royal arms. Edge inscription: DECUS ET TUTAMEN ("An ornament and a safeguard" – originally on 17th century coins, this refers to the inscribed edge as a protection against the clipping of precious metal. The original appearance of the phrase is attributed to an epic poem by Virgil—"viro decus et tutamen in armis" (Aeneid, Book V, L. 262), describing a piece of armour, a breast-plate interwoven with gold, which was awarded as a prize to Mnestheus.) Designed by Eric Sewell.[6]

Still no Klingon

If you dig out a pound coin with the royal coat of arms on the back, including the supporters, it looks as though someone has gouged out the centre of one of those.
Look- top left, you can just see part of the lion's tail.
Top right, the lion crest on top of the shield.
Lower right, a portion of the unicorn's tail

Why?

What have I said that you think is stupid?

I know I asked for a picture showing the date, I did not ask what the date was.......

I just wanted a picture of both sides, to rule out a fake as well as confirm the year

Or did I say something else?
