I hear a lot of ATSers complain of hearing about Ron Paul, Ron Paul. You know, there is no ban on ATS about posting threads favoring other candidates. I would like to read some. Frankly, I find Paul the most interesting candidate and in a class to himself and I'd really like to see him go the distance to the Oval Office but it's still a long time to the November elections and I am not absolutely sold on voting for RP. I could conceive a child and be feeding and changing her/him between now and election time so there is still plenty of time to convince others about a different or better choice.

If you think another candidate is great then please, tell us about her/him. So sing a song about Santorum, rave-up Romney. If you're nuts about Newt then let's notch him up here in the elections forums. If you're bonkers for Barack then let's orate about Obama.

Ron Paul is not the only one running in this election but it seems on ATS there are only two types who post, those that love Paul and those who don't. Either way he gets almost all the airspace here. If you can't stand Paul tell us who you DO like, what you'd like to see happen. What is your dream for America and who is best able to take us there?

Let me help you start:

I like Romney because... (fill in the blank)

Because it's much easier to repeat what the news told you about Ron Paul, that it is to think for yourself. But I agree, those complaining so much about Paul should just create their own threads about their favored candidates. Some of them, I'm sure, wouldn't descend into political trolling

I like Romney because...

1) He looks presidential.
2) I also like Obama, and I don't think an incredibly-rich white republican with most of the same policies can beat him.
3) He's not set in his ways, so I know he'll probably change his opinion on things I don't like him for.
4) He seems to have a lot less baggage than Gingrich.
5) He's got good taste in his (many) housing purchases.
6) Only the STUPID military, intelligence, and economic experts disagree with his policy ideas
7) ....ok guys, help me out here - I'm running dry

In my experience, the majority of people who do not like Ron Paul also dislike the other candidates. And they usually hate Obama as well, and all politicians while they're at it. I've heard some interesting arguments - for example, that RP's plans to greatly minimize government beaurocracy would allow corporate corruption to skyrocket. The rebuttal to this, is that a Libertarian government policy would protect all unconstitutional encroachment upon the citizens, by properly enforcing property rights. BP would have been destroyed by civil lawsuits, instead of protected by unconstitutional government beaurocracy.

Unfortunately, because of the perceived simplemindedness of the general public, issues of such complexity are often ignored both by the media, and by campaign advisors alike. This is unfortunate obviously. If these important issues were discussed more often, we'd have a much more relevant and interesting campaign, with the candidates' true colors being expressed. And in turn, people who held mistaken views about Ron Paul (or any candidate for that matter) could come to a better understanding.

I agree and think this is one of his most outstanding qualities. I know if he gets elected that right up until inauguration day in January 2013 he will be anything I want him to be. Anything to please us voters. What a guy!

C'mon, who could have a problem with Newt? A great debater with an eye for a quick buck and the ladies as well. A man's man.

And we need a POTUS who cares enough about his own opinions to throw caution to the wind when it comes to dealing with rogue nations who hate our freedom.

Newt won't take no crap from nobody and you can take that to the soon-to-be-locked-doors of your local bank! You thought Newt had some cajones before, just wait until he gets some nuke codes! Yeeee-Hawww!

And don't dare bring up Fannie Mae: why if they would've coughed up just a little more in advisor fees, Newt "The Natural" Gingrich would've had ol' Fanny turnin' a profit. He's pimp like that.

Tip O' the Hat to Praetorius for runnin' with his idea.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. = Ron Paul

It would be nice to have a thread that wasn't about Paul but as you can see here over run by Paulites refuse to listen to the OP and try everything to destroy the thread.
