Newt or Mitt who would you vote for if it came down to those two for the nomination?

RON PAUL OR DIE!!!

what an excellent thread to show up just how incessant some Ron Paul supporters can be. Quite selfish of them to contaminate a perfectly legitimate discussion when they've been requested not to.

I think it would have to be Mitt for me, though I must add thats more for Newt's weaknesses than Mitt's strengths.

Here is the thing, Newt or Mitt cannot possibly win.

If you limit my choice to those two, then I just won't vote, or maybe I'll vote for Obama and expedite the road to perdition!

Sorry, but (Not for Ron Paul people) isn't gonna fly. We make up a large portion of the voter base, and it may not be enough to get Paul the nomination, but it is certainly enough to get Obama the presidency, so the GOP better start taking us seriously.

I have already stated my views about Ron Paul on various threads and posts. This thread is for those for Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich!!! NOT RON PAUL!!!! You have your threads. I can have this one!

I can certainly say the same sensationalist bull crap about Ron Paul supporters. too but then I am labelled as a heretic or disgraceful!

I'm not voting for either of them , mostly due to the fact I don't live in the U.S .
But if I did I still wouldn't be voting for either of them due to the fact that they are both more of the same Republican fat cats .... of the rich ...for the rich

Thank you for actually understanding the OP! This is a discussion about Newt or Mitt not Ron Paul!!!!

That's because it shuts out a fair and open discussion. You can ignore the Paul supporters if it offends you that much, but in the end we are all just people with an opinion on a politician. I can't very well make a thread and say "no gays aloud". I haven't voted since I got registered decades ago (didn't know about Paul last time round) so its unfair to label me as brainwashed, I didn't vote for the current fuhrer messiah to evidence that

This is the thread about Newt or Romney as there are few positive threads about both of those candidates on here. There are millions of Ron Paul threads on here. So why can't I have my say Newt VS MItt?

While I can see your frustration regarding the people posting "Ron Paul 2012!!!", to be honest, you were kind of asking for it by calling Ron Paul supporters brainwashed fanatics.

This could have been avoided if you had not tried to exclude Paul supporters from the discussion, but rather asked something along the lines of "if Mitt and Newt were the only candidates, who would you vote for?"

Or discriminatory... Oh wait

Just like if I didn't vote for Obama I was racist right??? Oh wait. See politics is all about opinions I can just as easily go around to all the Ron Paul threads and yell discrimination and spread Newt Newt Newt all around too, that doesn't further the conversation or answer the question at hand.

Wow the question posed by this thread sounds like most of the MSM i have been seeing. It's almost like they are making the choices for you heh go figure. Ron Paul for me if not him i probably won't even vote.

Newt Or Mitt. Who are you voting for and why?

Neither. This time around it looks like there is no one worthy of my vote. Obama sucks. Newt and Mitt suck too. Ron Paul won't be on the ballot. He's too freak'n old anyways and wouldn't last an entire term I'd bet. So ... no vote.

Thank you I should rename the post! But I don't think it would stop Ron Paul people from hijacking this page. There are too many of them

Personally, I've struggled wih this. My vote will most likely go to Gingrich. His views are more in line with my own.

However, one thing to consider is the "independant" voters. They will be key to a Republican win. So will disaffected Democrats. Especially if Paul gums up the works by running third party thus draining off some of the Republican vote.

Romney does have less polarizing views and he did get a lot of liberal voters to vote for him as Governor of MA. Romney will also be more likely to gather those independant voters.

So, I guess, I either go with my feelings and vote Gingrich or go totally analytical and choose Romney. I think, for me, the deciding factor will be if Paul (or even Trump, although I think that unlikely and his hints that he may run seem more like promos for the new season of The Apprentice than an honest bid for the Presidency) decides to run as a third party candidate. In that case I'd have to put my like for Gingrich aside and give the vote to Romney hoping he will get enough support from non-traditional Republican voters to beat Obama (which is my primary objective, the nation can't bear another four years of this assclown) despite Paul's (or Trump's) entrance into the Presidential election.

Being a Conservative, even though he is over the top, Santorum is the most Conservative with least amount of government time in office. Newt over Rhino Romney.
Most likely won't vote for either if they get the nod... I'm going with Paul.

I wish all politicians would dress like Nascar drivers. That way we could see who their corporate sponsors are.

ETA:
OP and Title was edited while I was typing this. Kudos to the OP, that will make for a much more civil discussion, Thank You!

I'm going to leave up my original post, just in case anyone has already read it, but once again, kudos to the OP for making the correction, I think it will help the thread immensely.

So why can't I have my say Newt VS MItt?

You can have your say. You just can't stop everyone else from having their say. Your thread title is an illogical reduction of choices. Even if you (and the Mods) were successful in screening out all the Paul supporters from your thread, you would likely still have a lot of people saying, "neither."

You know that you asked for this barrage by putting (not for Ron Paul people) in the title, and insulting Ron Paul supporters in your OP. If you wanted a true and honest discussion, you wouldn't have trolled like that. You brought it upon yourself.

If you want to discuss your specific candidate, start a thread in the BTS: People, and hype your candidate. If you want a discussion about the actual 2012 election, then allow the discussion, don't try to insult and exclude a certain portion at the same time.

Did you really think it was going to be OK to insult the Ron Paul supporters, and then have Mods jump in to not let them respond? Really?

Thats perfectly reasonable, I would've said Romney for his hair, but you had to go there and try to shut us out completely while also insulting thousands of people for their opinion. Therefore I posted my opinion that was insulted

Yeah, I edited the post, but you have to admit there are a lot of Ron Paul fanatics on this site. And I received two of my first replies from them.

I would like to address the fact that the majority of people on here (not aimed at you IFeelForty) that are pro Ron Paul take a 'holier than thou' approach to all other candidates - insinuating and explicitly calling out supporters of other candidates as 'sheeple' and brainwashed victims. That's insulting millions of people. Let's all try to rise above that and address the OP and topic in hand - forget semantics and pedantry - Mitt or Newt - one or the other!
