EUGENE, Ore. - A jury found that a Eugene police sergeant wrongfully arrested a man in 2009 and awarded the man less than $6,000 in damages. Former Eugene resident Josh Schlossberg filed a civil rights lawsuit against the Eugene Police Department after he said Sgt. Bill Solesbee wrongfully arrested Schlossberg as he handed out brochures in front of Umpqua Bank. Schlossberg recorded the incident on video.
EPD will not take any desciplinary action against the officer.
