Is clearly misunderstood by all americans, EVEN THOUGH It's their biggest protector from straight up tyranny in the courts!

The 5th amendment literally exists so a prosecutor can't throw somebody up on the stand, and make them confess alleged crimes to a jury!

The 5th amendment has nothing to do with Evidence Collection or Contempt of Court.

All right, I see that, but what happened to spark this rant? Did you see something on ATS? Did something happen in your life? I know what you're saying, I'd like to know why you're saying it.

Yes the thread about this lady who refused to give up her password to her hard drive! She is pleading the fifth.

She is in contempt of court! With holding evidence!

Imagine if CEOs just refused to turn over passwords to incriminating files, and "plead the 5th."

People would be outraged!

She is about to get a big old slap in the face from the swift pimp-hand of Justice.
