I don't think you should give up art. I'm not a fan of abstract but I do have an eye and that painting shows the artist has skill. It's fantastic. Don't give up.

I've just finished reading a book about people who were left with PTSD after nasty experiences in their lives and what most of them had in common was a lack of self-esteem. Keep painting and you'll continue to heal. I'll betcha.

I had seen the other thread but the pics in this one show it up close better.
It is a very powerful painting.
Did you decipher the symbolism?
There are hidden images in it.
I was diagnosed with PTSD back in 2009
Had some people say "oh what were you in the middle east?"
because they thought only soldiers got it.
And that was from a nurse.
It really looks amazing though.
The color combination is pronounced but it works out well.
If it was in darker shades it would be really creepy.

Yep, I pretty much got it all figured out I think!
It was symbolic of a lot of things, mostly not for me, but for another ATS member.
It was spirit confirmation in the form of a painting.

Basically what you are seeing is the schizophrenic rage of someone in the moment of death of someone else, and the psychic wound it created within another person.

It goes back to something terrible happening, and it creating psychic trauma of some kind.
Lots of levels to this painting.

The creative outlets are very helpful for a lot of disorders.
I actually feel bad for others that don't have it.

I have met people that have said they really wish they could create and express themselves through art.

Yeah, I hear that a lot. People who say that they can't even draw stick figures. I always felt kind of bad cause it does come natural to me. I tend to be very expressive in whatever form of art I can get my hands on at the time.

I have a serious need to express things when and how I see them.

Drawing and writing were my main ways to express, but drawings tend to get lost or written on or colored by my daughter.lol

Writing has been my main way to express over the years.
The drawings were just ways to put dragons to emotions.
I always felt like an old worn out dragon,
not so much anymore
