FF6 (or 3, interchangable)
FF7
FF8
FF Tactics
FF12
FF5
FF9
FF10
FF3 (Nintendo DS version)
FF13
Those would be in order of favourite. I think i'm missing one. But one of the best ones i've played was 12. I had to randomly pick the first like, 7 of them, because i like them all a lot.
Its been awhile though, I have an emulator on my phone, i play FF7 on my phone xD. FF13 was a bust, it was -alright- but it was WAY TOO LINEAR for being a final fantasy game. It was like FF12.5 or something. Vs13 is going to be like Tactics is it not?! I can't wait for that then. Is it a ps3 only title?edit on 21/1/12 by AzureSky because: (no reason given)

1) FF9: returning to the meta gems was the best move in the games history, and the separate mini games like the card quest were amazingly immersive. Not to mention all the Easter eggs and the secrets for those with FF knowledge. It was an AMAZINGLY well produced game.
2) FF7: Changed the way FF was seen forever....
3) FF Crisis Core: How have you people forgotten about this gem?! Absolutely epic story line that played off of a prequel to FF7... The best fighting system known to a one-man-team real-time / turn-based game. Hard to explain, you have to play it... They made the best game for the psp to date with the way the controls were handled. You simply have to play it to understand...edit on 21-1-2012 by YouAreLiedTo because: (no reason given)

I agree with you FF9 was great , i prob should of rated it higher on my list, but i like them all almost the same anyways .
And i never put Crisis Core on it (You're right it is a great game, with an Epic story for any FF Fan, and the BEST FF7 spin off imo) cos its a side story, and i meant mainline Final Fantasy games else i would of put both Tactics and Crisis Core on my list .. Star for you mate

6: FF5
7: FF9
8: FF12
9: FF13

So what is everyone elses Top 10 list of Final Fantasy games . I can't Wait for Final Fantasy Vs13, As it seems like it is going to be great and have a great story .
Also i Cant Wait for Final Fantasy 13-2 as it seems like its going to fix everything that was wrong with FF13 .
Only Rate main Final Fantasy titles only , Not Side games such as Final Fantasy Tactics, Crystal Chronicles etc .edit on 21-1-2012 by mcdgray129 because: (no reason given)

I have always seen Crisis Core as a main-line story. I don't see a direct prequel as a spin-off. I can see your reasoning though, and I apologize for the misunderstanding

1) Final Fantasy VII - It was my first ever Final Fantasy, like 14 years ago, and was the one that got me into the series as a whole.
2) Final Fantasy XII - I love the whole "olden day Empire" idea, with knights and Kings etc. The entire game was massive, and the side-quests were some of the best, especially the Hunt side-quest, keptme going for hours and hours.
3) Final Fantasy XIII - Lightning kicks ass! The story is very similar to today's world in that there is a small group of "awoken" people against it's Government and the sheeple.
4) Final Fantasy IX - Loved the characters, the storyline, the battle system and the music
5) Final Fantasy X - Epic storyline, I engaged with all the characters and felt for them throughout their pilgrimage.
6) Final Fantasy VIII - I know loads of people hated this game more than any other title, but I loved it. Although, I could have happily beaten the living daylights out of Squall for being such a steretypical emo-character (in the depressive sense, not his dress-sense).
7) Final Fantasy VI - Kefka just cracked me up something chronic, he made me laugh so much. Terra rocks!!
I would state my last 3 favourites, but most other Final Fantasy fans I know aren't interested in the 2D sprite-character Final Fantasy games (they CAN'T be real fans ).
p.s. I really don't class XI and XIV as main titles, I mean, they are, but any game that you have to pay a monthly subscription, even though you paid for the game disc in it's box, is ludicrous, andshouldn't be played.
