In 1993 John Kerry chaired the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA
affairs. The commission concluded that there was no 'compelling'
evidence that any POWs in Vietnam remained alive.
John Kerry, using his 'war hero' status persuaded the committee
to vote that no POWs existed in Vietnam. There was some evidence
presented, but it wasn't compelling enough to move the committee
to vote to investigate - that's what was said after they met.
It was this vote that allowed the Democratic Party in the 1990's to
reopen trade with the Marxist Vietnamese dictatorship. In Dec 1992
Vietnam signed it's first commercial deal. It was a deep-sea commercial
port at Vung Tau. The CEO of the company that was to build this port -
C. Stewart Forbes - John Kerry's cousin.
So ... what happened? Was John Kerry correct when he chaired the
group saying that there were no POWs left alive after 15-20 years
in Vietnam? Or did he push the vote through so he could get trade
opened up again and have his cousin get the huge multi-million $$
deal with the Marxist government of Vietnam?
Or ... are both suggestions correct? John Kerry inadvertantly got it
right when he said there were no POW's left alive, AND he rushed
the vote through so he could get his cousin the multi-million $$$
contracts. (that's my guess)
Did he sell out his countrymen for $$$? Or did he 'serve his country'
and move things along so that both countries could heal?
I'm sure there may still be a few POW's somewhere over there.. But, let's face the facts, John Kerry, just like Bush Jr., is nothing more than a
"Professional - BS slinging Politictian". He's like the rest of 'em, just looking to make a buck without havin' to do a damn the to earn it..
