After 13 years of studying conspiracies and UFOs and some time reading the posts on this site, I have found myself becoming less and less of a conspiracy theorist. While I love to study the conspiracies of the NWO and others I find it increasing difficult to separate fact from fiction. I find it hard to maintain the unbias unity of the left-right political issues that are in our faces every day. So I take sides, I stand up for my country (the USA). I choose to reiterate the talking points of certain networks. I am proud to be an American, and I am proud to be Conservative! You can call me Ignorant, you can call me sheeple, you can call me a shill working for the MSM. I just dont care!!!

Let me give you a few examples:

Propaganda: Is the word that I hate the most in the entire English Language. Every single news source that originated from an idea can be propaganda. It just depends on how the individual interprets it. Let me tell you a secret, all news organizations produce news for profit. That's how they make money!!!! All news skews their stories based on the audience that reads/watches them.

USA is a dicatorship/evil/the spawn of satan: No. The USA is an amazing country. It has freedoms that even those in Europe wish they had. It has Hollywood (the center of the entertainment world)! It's got Wall Street (the center of the Financial World). It's got the UN (The Center of international relations). It's got NASA (the center of the space world). It's got Silicon Valley (the center of the computer world). It's got amazing theme parks, amazing parks and reservations. It's got state of the art Museums and laboratories. It's got amazing desserts, mountains, cultures, and a great society!!!! I think the good that the USA has done for progress and how it protects the world surely outweighs the bad. I am proud to be an American!

Religion is evil: While yes, religion does get twisted up so bad that it sparks countless wars across the planet. I think the good that religion gives people. That warm fuzzy feeling inside that most people get when they pray to their god or do a good thing in the name of their religion is fine. It's great! I don't understand the hate towards Christians or Muslims for that matter. I am proud of my religious education (even tho I choose not to believe it literally)

The NWO: Looking for connections that aren't really connections, but then saying that there is a NWO is a waste of time. OWS was not a wake up call, Ron Paul is not a wake up call Michael Moore is not a wake up call and neither is figuring out that Santa clause is not real. Does the builderbergers really rule the world? I don't know can you prove it??

UFOs: While I love the UFO stories and watch the History Channel's documentaries quite regularly. I am having a hard time believing in something without hard proof, exactly like religion itself!

The government does not want to kill us: Some of threads on here about the government wanting to harm us or kill us is very childish. Sure, some of the laws and policies getting put in place by this and previous administrations have gone too far, but we haven't abused them to death. They are just uncomfortably infringing upon our rights as citizens. The US Army does have laws. We are not terrorists!!!!

So in conclusion after reading some of the most hateful and yes ignorant posts on this forum I have become less of a conspiracy theorist than before! I did not really find any answers that I was looking for. Instead I was attacked, accused, insulted, and virtually raped and forced to eat SH*T. I have had some good political discussions with a few people on here, but some of you are so standing in a different universe than I am.

This is not a closing account goodbye, but I am going to be more of a reader (or is it stalker) than a contributor. Don't take pity on me. Don't say your sorry about my experiences. I am having a good time on this site. I just think that it's time to stop worrying about everything going on in the world and life my life to the fullest and maybe just maybe do some good!

Understandable. Sit by and watch it all happen, or do something and tell others, vote, take part in social movements - don't just ignore the problem.

A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle. - Khalil Gibran

Your OP crux is probably indicative of a lot of the regular members here on ATS?

How many of us are getting lost in the endless blaring headlines that promise proof, but deliver so little?

But here is perhaps a relevant antidote and anecdote to your malaise.

The rich and informed Jews in Germany knew Hitler was anti Communist and blamed Jews for the growing communist threat.

The poor Jews only heard and read his intentions as conspiracy talk.

The rich and powerful /well educated Jews got out , and their children/grandchildren now populate New York.

The poor Jews who saw the warnings as conspiracy or had no funds to flee in any case were the victims of his Final solution.

Some even only knew Mein Kampf as a conspiracy rumour.

We can only be informed as much as we read and hear, our instinctive internal discernement then can seperate the bull from the truth.

Talk less , post less?
how do we know waht others do not know?
What is obvious to one million is not so obvious to the next one million .
There are people in China.Korea ect who do not know anything other than waht they are force fed.

Who knows.

This isn't you going 'back to sleep' it's you waking up to the fact that many (most?) conspiracy theories hold no water.

You're more than awake now, you've now reached a point of questioning and investigating everything on both sides.

It's the ones who take the word of someone else, be it MSM, some guy on youtube or someone on ATS as truth without questioning it that are asleep.

So, congratulations for truly waking up for the first time.

From a European point of view: across the big pond, there really isn't anything that i dream of. No offense to anyone over there, of course
OK, carry on.

I find myself in the same boat as you, jjf3rd77. I've reached a point to where I realized that the general negativity of the conspiracy theory community was having an effect on me. It seems like everyone points out problems and no one offers any solutions. So I've been coming here much less lately.

If the world is such a dark place, i don't want to contribute to making it darker by dwelling on all the evil that happens in it. I'd rather focus on making a positive impact in the world to counter the darkness.

So.. I know you didn't ask for it, but here's my advice anyway (lol). Be positive. For example: If you're going to be proud to be an American, turn it into a positive thing. Instead of using that pride to negatively belittle other countries, use it to rejoice and generate positive energy.
