Iranian supreme leader blames U.S., Israel for scientist's death

Iran's top cleric has blamed the CIA and Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, for killing an Iranian nuclear scientist, Iran's state broadcaster said.

Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, who died Wednesday, was the third Iranian nuclear scientist in two years to be killed by what Iran described as a magnetic bomb attached to his car. A fourth survived a similar assassination attempt.

Roshan's death shows that "the global arrogance spearheaded by the U.S. and Zionism has reached a deadlock in confrontation with the determined, devout and progressive nation of Islamic Iran," Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying by the state-run Press TV.

Those responsible will not own up, Khamenei said, but the attack "has been carried out by the planning or support of CIA and Mossad [spy] services, like all other crimes of the network of international state terrorism."

They do seem to be having a lot of accidents, incidents and random acts of highly skilled and well supplied 'street crime' lately, eh? The Iranians may just take this last one as a step too far. I must say, in reading the details of how this was done, this took real nerve. What's next? They sneak someone into Ahmadinejad's private residence to tag a hand flipping him the bird on his bathroom mirror?

Yikes... If we'd back off JUST A HAIR...maybe Iran would too.

I watching it on tv right now...But what if Iran had something that everybody else doesn't know about besides the drone? maybe they have a secret nuke or worse. anything possible

Well, I'd first include the other assassinations like the Commanding General who recently died when a Missile being worked on nearby mysteriously exploded. Or the fuel did... Whichever vaporized the guy.

I'd also note the CIA is definitely not always subtle or smooth about what they do. In fact, the incident that was depicted in Robert Redford's movie "Spy Game" was likely based on a real event, where they blew up the better part of a city block and everything IN IT, trying to get one guy. If anything, the movie depiction as a fictional thing was far less horrible than the real one.

Now they claim that wasn't authorized...but there is more than one non-fiction type book published since to claim otherwise. In that context, it wouldn't shock me if these were CIA or Mossad trained/backed people doing this inside Iran. That sounds about right for how we've seen things in the past....and just as foolish and stupid as always. I guess some things never change...just the name tags on the door plates.

Not trying to get off topic, but I feel for these scientists, they went to school studied and are just doing their job only to get assassinated. I mean it's pretty clear who is the likely suspect behind these assassinations. smh

Although I see the logic in what you are saying the answer is simple... Israel doesn't care about these material things... this is "god's" will... when people are doing things for "god" they have no logic or reason and all the collateral damage caused by their actions has no weight in their decisions...
