Will the 2012 Republican Convention be a Brokered Convention?

What amazes me most - and even more political 'chippers' (They aren't junkies...yet) is the idea of a brokered convention. If Mitt Romney is even just 320 delegates shy of the nomination and Ron Paul has the needed delegates can his camp hold out and shape history? Could they shape the outcome using brain power over popular vote? How would the public react? Interesting read: www.examiner.com...

It seems hard to find information on this, as, I believe, the more 'fuzzy math and smoke' the harder it is to understand what it really means and what the possibilites are.
