We are now one minute closer to all out nuclear annihilation.

The doomsday clock is Basically it is a clock to when nuclear meltdown will occur (no date or time). The closer to midnight the closer to destruction so we are at 11:55 now.

The closest the clock has been to midnight has been 11:57 p.m., set in 1984 the U.S. and the Soviet Union had high tensions.

Do you think this is due to growing conflict with Iran?

Awesome. Wake me when this bogus clock reaches 2 minutes until. Since, after all, we were there already once before.

Japan, Energy demands and Iran are probably some of the top reasons when the doomsday clock is 5 min till midnight.

No the official reason is "Increased nuclear proliferation and lack of action regarding global climate change". Since Nuclear war(the original reason it was created) became so unlikely they now have added other things like climate change etc.

Well the official reason is ''increased nuclear proliferation and lack of action regarding global climate change.''
I think they are thinking about Iran when they say increased nuclear proliferation but I think the chance of another country using them jumped as well with everyone's tension rising.
The global climate changes scare me personally.Mother nature can be a real [snip] when it comes fighting back.

What would it take to get the clock to read.....oh lets say 9 o'clock?

Being in the 11 o'clock hour is just a little too close for me.

I feel like this clock sets at 11:55, like.. at the base levels (I could be wrong)

how can they put climate change in here.. when thats a fraud in itself.
