Syria's Bashar al-Assad blames 'foreign conspiracy'

www.bbc.co.uk

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has blamed a foreign conspiracy for trying to destabilise Syria, as a mass uprising against his rule continues.

The "external conspiracy is clear to everybody", he said in his first public remarks in months.

His violent crackdown on dissent has drawn international condemnation.

So, Syria is blaming its recent uprising on conspiracists. Geez people, I went to bed, got up this morning and ATS has destabalised a government?

Can't leave for a moment on here ....lol

But in all seriousness, this whole Middle East thing is just everyone pointing fingers...crazy, just crazy....

I think you have read this the wrong way or are not understanding it.

He is saying that he is blaming a foreign conspiracy in the form of other countries (governments) conspiring against his country etc.

Not ATS or conspiracists in general.

It probably is. Remember General Wesley Clark saying .... "This is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran." I do.

The people wouldn't buy just attacking them so manufacturing destabilization would make sense. Using terrorists, media etc to convince the zombies.

There is an interview with Bashar al-Assad in which he claims there was no order to kill. The man seems sincere enough to me. I think there is definately an external conspiracy involved here.

Great post, this is the same strategy this country's used since its beginning. They cause a coup, install a dictator thats subservient to our interests. Once either our interests change, or the power goes to the dictators head, we remove him through a coup for another...

Well said my friend, I have closely followed the events in Syria and there is no doubt in my mind that we are looking at a Nation and its people about to be slaughtered in the name of "Freedom" and all those nice things just as the Iraqis lost almost 2million people in the name of liberation.

Well lets, see we have the `al cia da` possy. Which was an American creation in the Afghan. Led by an American agent called Tim Osman (bin ladin) They were armed and funded by the west and used to get rid of gadaffi. Now they are in Syria? are they spreading democracy for the west?
So I guess he is right, about the foreigners trying to over throw his regime.

If you're going to link to that interview, I'd advise linking to the full interview - 48 minutes, but worth every moment:

Or for a highlight reel of some of the stuff ABC happened to edit out:

I stopped believing in what the mainstream news services are peddling once I saw this interview. It might just be me, but Al-Assad seems to be something I think I've never seen - an honest politican.

Thanks for finding those, I was intending to post those instead of the cut version but didn't have time to search for them, although I believe they have been posted in another thread on here not long ago.

The reason why the Syrians are fighting is not because it is being “manufactured” by the US (or others), it is because people fed up with living in a highly repressive police state. The fact that the Syrian authorities are able to kill without conscience – as has been amply demonstrated in recent months – should be illustrative of the type of society the Syrian people are reacting against.

If there’s a demonstration in France, UK, US or elsewhere, we don’t all blame Iran. Often we celebrate the demonstrators for what they are trying to do. Why can’t we celebrate the Syrian people and stop suggesting that it is not them who are running things.

Regards
