Reddit Founder, DNS Hacker And Other SOPA Critics Will Address Congress In Hearing

www.forbes.com

Now, it seems, the tech industry’s SOPA haters will have their day. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform announced Monday that it will hold a hearing on SOPA on January 18th. Among the invited guests are Alexis Ohanian, a founder of Reddit.com, Dan Kaminsky, a well-known security researcher who has worked on security issues in the Domain Name System, and Lanham Napier, the chief executive of Rackspace Hosting. All, with various arguments, have spoken out strongly against the bill.

Things can change when we make our voices heard. Thank-you SkepticOverlord for raising awareness and adding our voices here at ATS to the online outrage against SOPA and PIPA.

January 18th happens to fall into the timeline for the expected large Occupy Congress the same week, I'm sure they will be outside lending their voices in protest. Keep fighting everyone.

Their voices (along with our voices speaking on our behalf) will be heard, let's hope they listen!

I love reddit. I'm happy that they will be contributing to the arguments against SOPA. If it happens, then it will only lead me to going over friends places and downloading what they have on their hard drive. SOPA won't stop anything.

This is a great turn of events.

I hope the NDAA is going to be addressed and attacked next.

Why do people really think this is about freedom?

SOPA is to monetize the internet even further.

Napster was stolen and record labels monetized the technology.

SOPA will be the same for Hollywood and digital media distribution.

The claim is intellectual property is being stolen, however we all know that the money earned does not return to the economy they claim.

They stole our retirements, they stole our houses, they are stealing our ability to entertain ourselves.

But we're read-only so nothing will happen to change it.
