Here's SO's post about it in this thread: US Government Firewall Banning Notice on ATS

For the next few days, this is our "semi-dark" protest for SOPA. Everyone coming to ATS (forum pages) will see the protest image once every 24 hours. The desired ATS content page still loads "behind" the protest image, so there should be minimal inconvenience for members.

It was pretty clever of the owners to add that to the site,
i don't know if i missed it or not, but if there is or isn't
it would be smart to provide a link to the petition website
so people can message there officials and stop this from
happening. Soon it will be to late.

I had asked my friend google were to find an article on here.
When i clicked it, it took me to that thing...
I thought the article had been censored,
wich didnt make sense to me
because it was not such a threat to the establishment...

Then I read it from front to end, and realized, that is was:
Just an example...
Scared the pants of me...
I wanted to link the article with my f.b. account...
(and now have)

i barely had time to breathe today... was uber busy as always so when the splash screen come up i went :

and then went on. Lets face it, if sopa passes through which eventually it will, one way or another, perhaps then will people begin to realize that you all need to begin reading code, get yourself educated with code, no matter how young or old you are. Life isn't about writing articles and linking and social networking, learn the darker side of the net, its far more interesting and obviously an adrenaline rush.

I’d like to see one of these shock tactics made up in large, strong letters with official insignia that says:

You are formerly warned that the US Dept. of Justice in cooperation with recording industry heads are compiling a list of warrants for your arrest and several million others in the United States for illegally downloading music from various internet web sites.

However, we are currently deep in negotiations with the President and Congress to waive all charges against you and others planned to be served. the President sees this as a humanitarian gesture in light of the fact that the complete disregard of the law in your knowing downloading your music has allowed us to push forward our long-standing goal of implementing proper controls upon the internet in general plus individual , access to and use of the same. We regret these further acts while absolving you of your prior criminal activity in download shall have adverse effects you may not have counted upon.

Of course, this is a joke...get it?
