Lottery checks bounce for 85 winners in Illinois

An IOU and a free scratch off for your troubles? The state of Illinois leased out the state lottery last year. That's professional politicians in action. I think I'd be ready someone's @$$ over this. I seriously think this would push someone over the edge, especially if they had been hurting when they won.

Looks like it was an accident, and they are looking to remedy the situation.

Doubt it. Just an excuse to calm the public atmosphere. Politicians do it all the time. Heard 1 lottery agent in a gas station 3 days ago said they were giving it back because of money troubles. I have been told by numerous cashiers and ticket buyers alike there has been a noticeable drop in scratch off winners.

You know for along time we were told the lottery would give us the best schools in the country..the lottery was suppose to be used to upgrade schools into modern technological wonderlands..

Our schools are some of the worst in the nation..they are crumbling...so where is the lottery money going?

Lotto money does go to schools, heres the magic though.
For every dollar put in by the lotto an equal amount is taken out and redistributed for the fed, state, county, Etc.
So in the end, the schools do not get more, they just get lotto money.
