Huge Gas Explosion in Kentucky?

Saw this on the 5 o’clock news. (EST)

Local station out of Lexington, Kentucky LEX 18 reported this as breaking news.

They will have more at 11, or so they said…

But This Explosion apparently took place in or around Irvine, Kentucky (Estill County)

According to the eyewitness who called this in to the LEX 18 News…

The Explosion was too big to determine where it came from…
And it light up the entire sky.

And ash was being rained down on their house.

The woman on the phone said it made the worst noise ever, and unlike other gas line explosions she had heard the noise had not subsided… as most gas line explosions do.

I’m reporting second hand news here… but for you people on high speed internet who might be interested in such… I figured I would share…

Also... its irreverent to the topic? but I was right in the said area of explosion 4 hours prior and it was snowing so hard through that area it was whiteout condition, a blizzard almost... damnest snow storm too... once I got through it, it wasnt snowly very much at all and I looked back and noticed it was like a wall of snow was falling. Quite awesome looking

An apparent gas line explosion lit up the sky in Estill County on Monday night.The blast occurred at about 7 p.m. along Ky. 89 about seven miles outside of Irvine, said Estill County Judge Executive Wallace Taylor.Taylor said there were no initial reports of injuries."This is just very preliminary," he said, adding that he had been getting "very sketchy details" so far.

Sounds like it may have been a transfer station.

I will have to hunt for the link for it but I remember hearing about a gas explosion a few years back that happen high up in the air from a leaking substation. The shockwave off the blast pushed cows into the ground like a giant had stepped on them. Some cars under the blast area were only 6 inches high. They had been smashed flat like in a car crusher. People were in the cars when they got flattened.

A woman I have been talking to for a while now said she heard it from her house, and sent me a picture of the sky.... soon after she heard 3 more explosions, and said it was getting worse....

So lets say I might live next to at least 6 natural gas wells... all within .75 of a mile of where I currently am sitting...

with one being less than a quarter mile from my trailer... aka mobile home...
I look at it everyday...


Gas lines run all over my holler... for you city folk... Hollow lol

If those wells decided to catch a hot date...
I possibly wouldnt post on ATS anymore would I?

I seen about it on TV a few years ago. The show was about great explosion though history. They had a piece on there also about the boat load of fertilizer that blow up in Texas. I seem not to be able to find as of yet about that gas explosion but if I remember right that too was in Texas back in the 70's or maybe 80's.
If there is a gas leak with little or no wind and it builds up the blast can be very big. The shockwave can damage and kill for miles.

That would have been the Texas City disaster that happened in 1947.

No problem guys, as I said, I had an insider (aka a woman I am really interested in) that lived close enough to get a picture of the sky... apparently she felt the explosion though she didn't elaborate on how hard....

Any new info on this one?
